Not really a dream. Dempsey has the edge in every single category here with the exception of outfighting skill. He is holyfield's physical superior, and on the inside he's better too. So yeah, title run Dempsey would knock Holyfield senseless.

Jack Dempsey would have been the greatest in the 'Bomberweight Division'.

How about, Jack Dempsey vs. Floyd Patterson

Check out Jack Dempsey's interview with Howard Cosell, discussing the
Ali vs. Liston II fight in Lewiston.

He knew that fight/promotion was a 'joke'.

He didn't even dominate the Cruserweights of his day, he isn't doing it in the superior 80s/90s

Although its not in the time period I'd pick Johnny Nelson to give Dempsey nightmares

Jack Dempsey isn't beating Evander Holyfield.. Not even at 190 Lbs... Holyfield, despite not yet acquiring his heavyweight form, was a man who was made both physically and mentally for dealing with bigger, stronger men.. He had the strength, power, stamina athleticism and style to beat Dempsey, weather it be via decision or a stoppage in an all out war.. Jess Willard, Billy Miske, Carl Morris, and gunboat Smith were not in Holyfield's league, and Evander was the product of modern day molding which involved more advanced training, nutrition and an amateur career, beginning at childhood...

Somebody is going down when fighting Jack Dempsey.

I still think in 1965, he could have gotten in the ring with Muhammad Ali, and given him a
    battle for 3 rounds.

    I wouldn't have doubted it.

Probably at his bar/restaraunt in New York.

I think he also stated, Floyd Patterson wouldn't have been good enough to make it on his team of sparring partners.

And on Cassius Clay, 'I'd use him for my 'Badminton' partner, because I know he
    couldn't break anything'

    Dempsey would beat them all.
Holyfield would give him a hell of a fight but I think Dempsey's power would eventually overwhelm him.

Firstly, this is arguably a fairly green Holyfield we are talking about.

Secondly, what does his sucess against bigger men have to do with how he fares at cruiserweight?

Sure he probably would beat Willard, Morris, and Firpo at heavyweight, but at cruiserweight I think that Miske or Gibbons would have an excelent chance against him.

The man never fought like a '***** in the ring',,,,,,,,

After watching Liston vs Clay I,,,,,,

'It was like watching a bear and a ballroom dancer'

'If they ever staged that fight at a boatyard pier, neither one of those guys
would have made it out alive'

Well, Dempsey was from a tougher age of boxing, when sheer savagery in the ring was the norm.

I think he also made a comment regarding Clay-Liston that "in the old days, if a fighter quit like that, the crowd would've started a riot"

He's probably right. Even some of the crowd cursed and booed Willard for "quitting" after suffering seven knockdowns and a bloody battered swollen face and body.
