Too much money to pass up.

And I think Mayweather presents some problems for Trinidad too.

Margarito brought money and no recognition for the win to be honest. Yes, hardcore boxing fans know he is a good fighter. But you can't compare Trinidad to Margarito in either money OR recognition. A loss to Margarito hurts far worse than a loss to Trinidad (should Mayweather lose) and win over Trindiad is much bigger than a win over Margarito. Objectively, like it or not, that's a fact.

Based on what PBF says, the answer would definitely have to be yes. Tito had a name nearly as big as DLH's. So financially, I dont think PBF would turn the fight down. It would probably be a fight that PBF would think he could win easily by sticking and moving without taking any chances.

You know, I could actually see Money take on Tito now at the Garden just to milk Puerto Rican spending power, but it wouldn't be the same. The prime Tito (pre-Hopkins) would have smashed Floyd.

I don't belive Trinidad could have smashed Mayweather, Mayweather could have outboxed Trinidad much the same way DLH did, with less offense of course and more defense. A mover like Mayweather would give someone like Trinidad problems because Trinidad lacked the footspeed to chase him around. He also could become predictable with his head assault. This is a possibilty with Mayweather.

De La Hoya in his prime would have most likely decisioned 147 Mayweather. Styles make fights.

What about TATA you can not compare him egither with tito.why do you think pbf has never had a lost.because he does not take change's.and great fighter i mean ALL GREAT FIGTHER'S HAVE LOST.WHY BECAUSE THEY TAKE CHANGE'S AND NEVER DUCK NO ONE.SO PBF WOULD NOT FIGHT TITO

He got $1 more to fight the undisputed champion of his division at 147.

    That's what happened.

I agree. Ultimately, Trinidad is a rhythm figher who can be disrupted very badly by movement, which is all he'd see from Mayweather. Boring fight, UD for Mayweather.

And yes, I think ODLH takes Mayweather at 147 because he has the physical advantages and enough skill and speed to make Floyd extremely negative and tentative. Another likely boring fight, but Hoya has too much for Floyd there in his prime.

If you are going to be irrational, we should just move on.

One: Marciano and Lopez never lost, both are ATG.

Two: Nearly every great fighter in history has been accused of ducking someone. I am NOT saying that Mayweather should get a pass on this, I am simply pointing out that your post has some misconceptions OR exaggerations aimed at making Mayweather look worse than he already is.

Three: What does Baldomir have to do with anything? According to reports, he was paid the same to fight Baldomir as he would have been to fight Margarito AND he got a shot at the Lineal title. Baldomir had also just raised his public profile significantly by defeating Gatti.

Neither fighter however compares to facing Trinidad in recognition AND money. So those points you and I are debating have little relevance here. Apples and Oranges.
