Would Haye be the biggest win of either Klitschko's career?

Yes for Vitali, no for Wladimir (I think Byrd would still be a better win).

 

Yes!! Hayes HW resume is stacked. He has cleaned up HW. He took Barret, Valuev and Ruiz out. That man has no fear!!

Not at all... Certainly Wladimir has a fine list of better opponents and even Vitali has won from a few better opponents than Haye is or ever will be.
Haye is only hyped (mostly by himself, credit for that) so far, and his 2 HW titlefights underline that statement.
The more time goes by, the more I'm starting to see Haye as just another contender who had gone the same way as Chambers, Arreola, Peter and friends if he really had fought one of the brothers.

 

For Vitali it would be. I'd say Sanders is the best guy Vitali beat but he was old and hadn't been too active when they fought and I'd put him above the likes of Gomez, Peter, Arreola, and some of the others Vitali has beaten.

For Wlad its debateable. The best guys Wlad has beaten have been Byrd, Chagaev, Chambers, and Sultan-I'd put Haye in that mix. Byrd and Chambers were more proven than Haye but they matched up badly with Wlad. Chagaev, I believe, was losing a step by the time he lost to Wlad. Sultan was probably just as dangerous as Haye and had about the same accomplishments coming into the fight as well so they are somewhat even as well. But I'd clearly put Haye above some of the others like Brock, Brewster, Peter, etc.


A lot of it depends on what Haye does from here on out. If he were to beat a few contenders than he would move up the list but if he keeps fighting the Harrison's of the world then he could slide down.

 

Don't you rate Hide above Haye? They are basicly a carbon copy of eachother with Hide having more punching power and a better HW resume.

 

In terms of significance, yes he would.

Purely based upon skill, I would say no.

 

David Haye has done nothing to prove he's any better than Lamon Brewster, Tony Thompson, Eddie Chambers, Ruslan Chagaev, Sultan Ibragimov, Sam Peter, Calvin Brock Chris Byrd, Davaryll Williamson, Corrie Sanders, Ray Mercer, Jameel McCline, Kirk Johnson. And he'd probably lose to most of those guys.

So no, beating Haye wouldn't be as notable as most of those guys, and no more notable than any of them.

 

This is a more complicated question that it appears to be. I believe that it would be a huge win by virtue of every title being in the hands of a Klitschko. Strictly as a name, though, I'm not yet convinced. Haye really hasn't had a career at heavyweight to evaluate. There was a time when (some) people thought that Peter was going to be the great destroyer, but now that his career has progressed we have some more perspective to judge him with.

 

Right now a win over Haye is more valuable than a win over Hide was. Haye has a belt which still carries weight and he is viewed as one of the top 3 heavyweights and I don't recall Hide being rated that high. A lot of Haye's value is based on speculation and if he were to get upset then he will be seen as someone who was overhyped. But right now I'm on the side that sees Haye as a good, dangerous, heavyweight but he needs to get in the ring with one of the other top guys to prove it.

 

only because he is perceived as his biggest threat, even though he has done nothing but run and disprove that..... but yeah, it would have to be up there in top 3....chagaev was a huge win and by what method he punished him ....the byrd KO was a big win back then...... if davids hayes biggest wins are 38 year old has beens....hard to give him the nod...based on sheer trash talking

Neither will beat him though, he will KO Wlad when they fight and Vitali wont want any part of that after witnessing it, especially now he is well past his prime.
