Would Haye be Vitali or Wlad's best win?

Vitali was favourite in every single one of those fights. No one hyped Johnson, Williams, Sanders or Arreola (except for idiots).

 

Yes, HBO tried to push Arreola but no one fell for it.

He definitely has. Ruiz and Valuev are as good as anybody Peter's beaten. Valuev infact would handle Peter quite easily.

Add in how much better Haye actually is compared to the plodding Peter and its a lock.

The only people he's beaten are fragile fighters where he can plod them to death like Maskaev and McCline who is known for throwing fights away and he should have finished off Peter. And a completely out of shape Toney who was worse than the roided up version Ruiz faced.

I think Ruiz and Valuev compare favourably to anything Peter's done.

 

Valuev handling Peter is a single A+B=C styles issue, not that relevent on who is the better win for Wlad.

Haye still has it to do for me. If Vit flattened Haye and Haye retired then he'd just have a chinny former Cruiserweight on his record in a lot of peoples eyes.

Yes but that just says a great deal about shite Vitali's record is more than anything that a chinny cruiser would be his best win. But he's still a chinny cruiser with a couple of decent wins and the WBA belt, its more the fact that Haye's talked such bollocks and not yet followed through that seems to make people have that negative view of him. Ruiz and Valuev are not bad wins at all in this weak division.

 

They arn't bad wins, but neither are Peters if that is the measuring stick in this, as you say, weak division.

You could just as easily say that Haye talking bollocks has caused people to over estimate what a win over him would do for Vitalis record on the back of a just couple of decent wins at the weight.

 

Then again, it being such a weak division, does it really matter if you have 2 or 8 wins over this type of competition? Would beating McCline and Maskaev really improve Haye's lot? I very much doubt that, he'd just get stick for it.

 

Haye could well beat Vitali, who really can't punch (but would have enough weight behind his whack to put Haye away IMO) and Ive always gone with the thinking that 'Vitali couldn't beat the Lewis that Rahman beat', but for my money his best win is Sanders, mainly because Sanders had demolished a far different Wlad (I.e inferior to today's version)

There's a 100-page plus debate on the Classic about Vitali Vs Joe Louis. I actually felt Vitali would be bug enough to damage Louis, but on reflection, Vitali really doesn't appear aesthetically superior to Buddy Baer or Primo Carnera IMO. I actually favour Louis over both Klits now, he has the poise to take both of them out IMO.

 

Or Peter beating Ruiz for that matter. Ho hum, its one **** division, thats for sure. When a gobby Cruiserweight can move up and immediately be the guy that everyone want to see fight the champs then it speaks volumns.

 

Terrible division. If Haye does clear up it's an even clearer indication of its mediocrity IMO.

 

Personally, I think Lennox ducked the re-match with Vitali because he didn't want to do the work to ensure the second win. Lennox could be lazy.

Haye hasn't done **** at HW to even make this a worthwhile conversation.

At this point, I would say every HW either of their records with more than 5 HW fights is a better win that Haye.

If Haye is able to beat either of them and they win a rematch..that would be something.

If Haye could put together a string of solid wins over some other top 10 HW's, then they beat him... ok. I could roll with that.
