Dear Friends kind regards I have rewatched David Haye's match with Wladimir Klitschko and now it has all been bought into perspective for me. Haye acted like a jerk before his match up with Klitschko as shown here. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LvTzKfjfEnQ&feature=related[/ame] You would have thought that Haye would have backed up his statement, but the fight in its entirety (shown here for anyone who missed it). [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65BDB2S6gP4[/ame] To be fair, Haye did go the full twelve rounds and landed some good shots, but there was just nothing that he could do against Klitschko's immense size and jab. I guess what I am trying to say is that Haye would have not been so sharply criticised had he not been so mouthy before the fight. Who agrees with me? I await your comments. yours thankfully John
Of course that he wouldnt be that criticized. He fought a good fight, won some rounds. He was one of the most demanding opponents for Wladimir in years.
YES, he would. Haye isn't being criticized primarily for his trash-talk. It's because he BRAGGED so much about his own abilities, and how agressive / exciting he was goin to be in the ring. The savior of HW boxing, etc etc etc. Then he fights 2 over the hill bums, runs from Valuev, and does a new version of the Chicken Dance with Wlad, including the special "toe" manuever. Even his accomplishments at CW are questionable, and nowhere near his own personal claims of grandeur. This prima donna also kept the press waiting 45 minutes for his big press conference with Wlad. He kept Lennox Lewis waiting before the fight, god-knows how long, outside his dressing room door (on international TV, no less.) I'd elaborate further, but Princess Haye isn't worth any more of my time. The guy's just a total joke.
no ofcourse not...the hate comes from his mouth..if haye actually earned his shot and lost.then no one would bat an eyelid about it...but the fact is he acted like a complete and utter tit he was beatin like a complete and utter tit so therefore deserves to be treated like a complete and utter tit...
Yes, because on the biggest night of his career. He chose the worst gameplan in his armoury. Now getting it wrong would be okay if he had switch to his strengths in the fight. He did not he ran and pot shot from the outside. Now watch the Ruiz fight in the first round when Haye throws a proper one, two get a stop watch and time it. Then choose any of his Hayemakers from the Wladimir fight and time how the long punch gets from a to b. Haye picked the tactics that burn his stamina quicker, picked a punch which takes the longest to get from a to b and leaves him off balance. In the Ruiz fight he switched to speed when he was gasing in the 6th. His accuracy went up, the stamina problem vanished and the power came back. So this is not asking a fight to do something he has never done in a fight before on the biggest night of his career. Haye's problem was stamina, when he did get Wladimir, Wladimir came out of second gear and gave him two for one back. Haye could have throw far more and landed far more against Wladimir if he left the hayemaker for when he had Wladimir in trouble. Instead he led with it. Since he was not going to knock Wladimir out with a single shot if he had been fit enough he could have tried his best tactic speed. You would have got the fight you paid for as Wladimir would have to fight not cruise through the fight. Haye might have caught him. I think once Wladimir caught Haye, Haye decided not to risk it like wladimir does. The problem is haye does not throw punches, he throws feints. You can not win boxing matches by threating to throw. If Haye had gone for speed there would have been far more action. Haye does not have the stamina as he trains as a sprinter not a boxer. So I guess Booth was right, because a real tired Haye would most likely be taken out by Wladimir even in second gear. So wrong gameplan, lack of training to be able to alter cause. Poor show from Haye, if he can land that many Hayemakers on Wladimir he can land hell of a lot more proper punches.
Of course, he was as pathetic as every other Klits opponent he personally criticized. It's not just he needs to back up his trash talk, I mean we are not childish, hype is hype. But he specifically pointed out how boring and pathetic Russian, Ukranian, American etc. heavies are, then put on the British trunks with an army of loyal fans and supportive media, and pulled the Ibragimov of the decade, letting his fans, his country and ultimately boxing down. The absolute worst time to spit in boxing face and show up only for the money is when everybody's watching, Haye got the world's attention using boxing's promotional capabilities then left the sport in the dust, thanks to him a lot of usually uninterested people who though boxing would finally deliver will never watch this '****' again. And believe me, nobody watches the Corrales-Castillos, 3000 at ringside and 2mil world wide is a **** number. Casuals don't care to give unknowns a chance because they were disappointed enough by the Hayes, that's the tragedy of it. So yes, for a guy who can talk big and punch big, he deserves every bit of criticism for not fighting big.
