Would if continuous amateur champions had gone the Pete Rademacher route?

Sure, I was just throwing up eligibilities per the premise - and allowing forever AM, Teofilo, a one off chance at the HW Title per Olympic Gold Medal wins. The man could punch, not to say he could beat any of the big 4 ATGs but it could’ve been a bit of fun for a round or two.

Then again, if Teo was to have fought a one off vs Frazier or Foreman, etc., it may well have ended his viability going forward, even at the AM level.

 

There was Felix Savon’s 1st round KO of a very young (19 yo?) and relatively svelte David Tua also. The height and overall size difference was significant.

Real time it had the feel of the old “phantom”‘punch - one sec David was on his feet, next moment he’s down and upon arising can barely control his legs.

Where was the punch? - the real time angle obscured the punch somewhat - fortunately multi angle replays showed the punch clearly, very powerful and on the temple area as I recall. The effortless and seemingly innocent execution belied its power, accuracy and effect.

The Cubans AMs had already entered the world of SHWs well before the size me up HWs got a foothold in the pros - as to Teo and Felix, talk about possessing physical attributes perfect for boxing - as if genetically engineered for the game.

I haven’t read any suggestion of PED usage for Teo and Felix - doesn’t mean necessarily that there hasn’t been any reports nor does it rule out the possibility of usage in any circumstance anyway I guess.

Just on a visual assessment, I don’t think they had the appearance of users.
