Would it be more proper to refer to the following as "UK" or "British" Fighters?

Lewis, Hatton, Calzaghe, Khan, Haye, and Froch

    That is the exact group.

Is there a correct or more proper way to get this point across? Or does it even really matter?

Pardon the ignorance of a stoned American. Any help would be appreciated!

I always thought the UK and GB were the same, but I am a stupid mother****er anyway, you should get someone to rename this forum British & Irish Boxing forum.

UK would include NI as the guy above stated, GB is England Scotland & Wales

United Kingdom of Great Britain AND Northern Ireland

This forum is more UK and Ireland (meaning Eire) than solely British

The fighters mentioned are all British, although you could say UK as they are from there too, but you couldn't include a fighter from NI and say they were all British

    If that makes sense

Fighters from Northern Ireland hold passports which call them "British citizens" and most people in NI would class themselves as "British" so British will suffice.

Agree with Jack Dempsey, I wish that the Irish would stick to the European forum. As soon as you make any thread that knocks an Irish fighter, the **** hits the fan. Slapbangwhallop being the main poster for that...

although there is a defence mechanism that kicks in, i wouldnt say its specific to us, if you knock a scot the same happens same as the welsh and it seems the scousers too

    :deal

I wish he would go to Belfast and say that, would be worth watching...

They can have northern Ireland anyway, its not as though anything good comes from there and they are another drain on us with their poor economy. Wales too coming to think of it, Scotlands a keeper tho as they are self sufficient, hopefully we can pilfer their coffers...

Didnt mean to offend, i just mean that the 'irish' on this forum if for example you start a 'british super6 smw' involving steve collins. All you get is ''collins aint british he's irish you arrogant *******'' :admin blah blah blah, if thats the case, why do the irish not check the european thread out if they are so against being involved with us brits.

you say that as if its in the future tense - having already done it for couple hundred years

beside, if the scots went their own way with all their north sea oil and gas, london would be ****ed!

i was joking pal. dont take people too seriously, most of them are probably 15 yr old 'rebels' who never lived through any of the troubles and are key board warriors. theres plenty of good posters there too

ps - if anyone has espn classic they are doing a day of boxing - sugar ray rob, duran, tyson, ali, joe louis - check it out
