Would it be more proper to refer to the following as "UK" or "British" Fighters?

No. We shifted to being a service based economy because we could not compete with production costs of many things in poorer nations and because our raw goods such as coal were simply not profitable either.

There is more to the economy than either banks or farms. And Wales has a woeful GDP that would make it one of the poorest nations in Europe if it were to stand alone. Tourism in London brings in vast sums of money for example and arguing that this is worth less than meat and vegetables produced on a farm simply doesn't hold.

You are talking as if there is some intrinsic value to that which a person or state amasses, but there is not. What makes a diamond valuable? The fact that people deem it so and will pay for it, that is as much smoke and mirrors as a share price. And yet I am sure you would not say an area was worth less than Welsh farming regions if it had large, operational diamond mines.

I can hear what your saying and agree that there is way too much **** and vinegar spoken about some topics. However history does need to be heeded or we do tend to make the exact same mistakes again. And remember, your point of view changes depending on where you stand.
As for Mugabe all I will say is only the good die young.

Totally, but you don't see Jews keep pelting the Germans for what Hitler did in the late 30's and early 40's. Its all about taking stock of what's happened and moving on, that's what life is about surely???

Steady your horses their cowboy, you are taken off on your own trial there.
The service industry and tourism and very much part of the real economy as long as they creat something that is wanted or needed. That which a person/state amasses does have intrinsic value be that land, resources, raw materials, education, learned ability, technology. A diamond does not exactly correlate to a share as a diamond does exsist in reality and you can hold it or take it away, a share is little more than a paper piece of trust in a third party. International financial services, run by corporate bankers have shown themselves to be little more than pyramid schemes created by and run by crooks.

Sorry mate, but strike has a point, what you say makes sense if everybody worked off the basis of no debt and to be solvent. But in a world where transactions are instant and the world is based on buy now pay later, an i.o.u is as good a £20 note.

on a tangent if you wanna see corrupt, check the recent lawsuit onvolving goldman sachs, its absolutely criminal!!!

But it does not have intrinsic value. Tourism? How does that equate to something real? It only has value that is arbitrary and based on the desires of a third party to pay for the right to see something. A share is trust in a third party, and hoping that Japanese people will pay to stay in London and look to see where Sherlock Holmes lived (really...) is putting faith in a different third party.

The point is that no commodity has an intrinsic value, ie one that is definitive and a part of what makes it what it is. Lobster used to be a poor mans food and now it is for the rich. People pay for charlatons to do crystal healing or other such nonsense based on a faith in a third party.

Anyway, the main issue is that London generates far more money than the whole of Wales and it is not all based on shares and corrupt bankers.

But we are going way off topic in regards to the thread.:D

Back on point, British fighters would suit the bunch mentioned in the opening post best, and personally I have no problem with the Irish lads posting on here at all.

Yes... although if you're like me and don't believe in country's as they are just man made borders, or more to the point, enforced idiology banged into childrens minds all over the world as soon as they're able to comprehend what the idea of a nation is then... no.

Coming from a stoned englishman. :smoke:lol:

But this is exactly it, there comes a time when you have to pay the iou. When the shite hits the fan you can't eat a financial transaction but give me a welsh lamb chop any day.:good
