Mayweather makes $30m++ from fighting Delahoya, more money than he can hope for from fighting any other fighter. If he beats Delahoya again the money train will have come to its end

If money is all Mayweather cares about it may make sense for him to throw the rematch and set up the Rubber Match

The answer is no. As much as he loves money, he loves winning even more. Furthermore, I can pretty much guarentee Oscar won't give him a rubber match if he wins.

Well if he did I'm pretty sure it would be agreed by both thus they would have to do it a third time.

No and even if he did lose I would be pissed if he fought Oscar a 3rd time without fighting Cotto first.

That still doesn't make sense. Oscar is worth hundreds of millions of dollars. He's only taking this fight to prove that he can beat Floyd. How would having Floyd throw the fight achieve this goal?

Yes, it WOULD, and in the back of my mind, I've always had such lingering suspicions about this rematch, even if only half-hearted.

This what I call a pre-fight excuse in case of a loss. That way, people won't have to give Oscar credit for beating him. If you think that Mayweather would purposely put a loss on his record, you must not follow the man very much. He is completely obsessed with being undefeated.

No, it would defeat the purpose of taking the easy fight to begin with. If by some freak accident Mayweather did truly lose, he'd be forced to fight Cotto to salvage his legacy.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying...wait a minute, what the hell does Hopkins have to do with this? Why you feel the need to constantly make disparaging remarks about a living legend is beyond me.

If he was thinking of throwing a fight, then I would really lose every ounce of respect for him, and you all should too. Throwing a fight for the sake of getting more money makes you nothing but a worthless *****.
