No he got clocked by a guy with a 53-22-16 record who was 5'10 with a 69 inch reach and who had been stopped numerous times previous. Also didn't a middleweight in Carpentier shake Dempsey to his boots? Listen we know you dislike the Klitschko's but be realistic Wlad is overall the much greater physical specimen. He's bigger, stronger, more powerful, more athletic, more skilled and has the better footwork. Dempsey would be lucky to see the 4th.
not 'no', its 'yes'-everything I said was fact. if you deny facts you are a liar. tell that to Jess Willard. end of.
Well Wlad was never stopped in a round so your 'fact' isn't actually a 'fact'. Jess Willard wouldn't be top 20 in this era. Now that is a fact.
wrong again, douche. Let me illustrate the difference between fact and opinion for you. you have misread my post, or confused eone elses with mine. I've never said Wald got stopped in a round. = FACT = your OPINION
Dempsey would have been a cruiser and a small one at that in the modern era. Probably would have cut to 175 actually. And no, I dont think fighters from then could compete.
The boxing heavyweight stars of the past, especially the distant past like Jack Dempsey would have no chance against a modern day athletic marvel like Wlad Klitschko. Wlad is far better trained, has far more amateur training under the old Soviet boxing system where he emerged with an Olympic gold medal. He has access to better nutrition, better sparring and systems of exercise and strength training. He has better medical care and rehabilitative care between fights to rehab injuries properly, etc. Men also have become much bigger and stronger on average since Dempsey's time. It's hard to believe now but Ali at a shade under 6 foot 3 inches tall towered over most of his opponents. He would look positively runty now in the ring with Wlad Kiltschko. Jack Dempsey and the rest of those old time greats would have as much chance defeating Wlad as the top swimmers of the twenties would have against Micheal Phelps in a modern Olympic swim competition. Which is to say zero chance.
