When did McCall become indestructable??...the man who broke down in tears and stopped fighting could be KO'd by a prime lean Jack Dempsey...
i agree anyone can be KO'd. i think its more likely that McCall quits or is saved by the referee or his corner. i never thought mccall was mentally stable. he quit and cried against lewis. and he looked like he was very upset and frustrated against a 45year old holmes too ! mostly he just sleepwalked through fights. really had little skill and not a true champions heart. he took a punch EXTREMELY well though, he punched pretty good and he was strong. but not an A-grade fighter.
I'm a huge fan of dempsey and I don't see Dempsey buzzing him let alone KO-ing him. Mcall would of done well in that era I feel.
I remember the meltdown with Lewis. McCall was walking around the ring wiht his hands down and Lewis took advantage (as he should) and rained down punches on McCall. Lewis, possibly the hardest puncher at the time, couldn't seem to stun McCall in the slightest.
Seamus has a good point, should Oliver survive the inevetable early onslaught, he may survive, but I feel, sadly for McCall, that other onslaughts might occurr.
