Suge, I think a great WBC Eliminator would be Peter vs Toney III.

Soon to be WBC eliminator has nothing to do with it, since Vitali wasn't retired at that point and sent out an offer to Toney to fight for it. He became the WBC eliminator after Vitali retired. When Vitali was active Toney was a **** situation with his suspension and clearly stock going down for the steroid use, his reputation was ****ed and he wasn't going to get any offer better than the one Vitali sent it.

Nice way of twisting this to Mayweather out of clear desperation, Mayweather wasn't offered a career high pay-day there, as far as I remember he fought Baldomir for the same amount and the recognized linear title and #1 spot. Who did Toney fight and for how much?, Dominick Guinn.

ViTKLiT didn't mind avoiding Rahman, but Toney was wrong to not fight ViTKLiT for a smaller purse than he felt he deserved...??? OK.

 

Toney's resume and opposition at Heavyweight is garbage. He has refused to fight any of the Eastern European Title holders. His career is over his next fight is a crossroads fight if he loses he has no options.

yep I know, I've been to Monaco, and I will tell you this about your analogy:
if a known mexican fighter would fight in beverly hills, he'd still bring a lot of mexican fans with him to that place. These mexicans ain't living in beverly hills of course, but they'll travel there to support their fighter nevertheless. Likewise Monaco is about 100km from the italian border, and there live a lot of italians in that area of south France - the italians who came to Monaco to back their fighter are of course not residents of Monaco, they have to travel. I've actually never seen footage of that fight, I'll try to get hold of some footage so I can see what the publics reactions were. But I pretty much believe most of them were rooting for the italian guy.
