Soon to be WBC eliminator has nothing to do with it, since Vitali wasn't retired at that point and sent out an offer to Toney to fight for it. He became the WBC eliminator after Vitali retired. When Vitali was active Toney was a **** situation with his suspension and clearly stock going down for the steroid use, his reputation was ****ed and he wasn't going to get any offer better than the one Vitali sent it. Nice way of twisting this to Mayweather out of clear desperation, Mayweather wasn't offered a career high pay-day there, as far as I remember he fought Baldomir for the same amount and the recognized linear title and #1 spot. Who did Toney fight and for how much?, Dominick Guinn.
...and Rahman sent him an open letter complaing about ViTKLiT seeking other opponents, among them was Toney. ViTKLiT didn't mind avoiding Rahman, but Toney was wrong to not fight ViTKLiT for a smaller purse than he felt he deserved...??? OK.
Toney's resume and opposition at Heavyweight is garbage. He has refused to fight any of the Eastern European Title holders. His career is over his next fight is a crossroads fight if he loses he has no options. Put it this way, James Toney lost TWICE to a guy that just got his ass kicked by a guy that had not fought in 4 years!
Toney chose NOT to pursue a WBC cruiserweight title shot & big payday despite being the WBC #1 Contender in early 2000, because it meant he may have to box in Germany. Now he's still talking nonsense about the Klitschko's depsite refusing to fight either . "fight anyone, anytime"...BULL****.
That's because Rahman was already scheduled to fight Barrett and Vitali's offer was allowed even after Rahman tried to stop it because there was a good enough gap between his fight with Barett and the date Vitali was picking for Toney. How did Vitali avoid Rahman?, idiotic points like that make you the laughing stock you are slowly becoming. The man was injured and had to postpone the fight, how is that avoiding exactly? Toney didn't deserve a bigger purse, it's more than enough that he's coming off a NC with steroid use and what he was offered was a CAREER HIGH PAYDAY, how the HELL is that a small purse exactly?, he never made anything close to that in one fight even till this day.
yep I know, I've been to Monaco, and I will tell you this about your analogy: if a known mexican fighter would fight in beverly hills, he'd still bring a lot of mexican fans with him to that place. These mexicans ain't living in beverly hills of course, but they'll travel there to support their fighter nevertheless. Likewise Monaco is about 100km from the italian border, and there live a lot of italians in that area of south France - the italians who came to Monaco to back their fighter are of course not residents of Monaco, they have to travel. I've actually never seen footage of that fight, I'll try to get hold of some footage so I can see what the publics reactions were. But I pretty much believe most of them were rooting for the italian guy.
That's all it took...??? I pushed the Floyd button and you turn into a *****...??? I only engaged in this because I previously had a large amount of respect for you...and previously we were able to disagree like men. Now you want to start the name calling...??? Eat a **** you self righteous Floyd Hugger....
Good job responding to the points I left you and used "Floyd" as an excuse. Nice way of showing off your true colors.
My colors are always on display. You rather name call than disagree like men, that's fine by me...I'm all to happy to throw it back. Afterall you are not an undeserving New-B, you want to take shots at me...I'll stick my chin out for you.
Suge has gone off the deep end since Peter quit on his stool. He should take some time off from the forum and come back when he is ready to talk Boxing again.
Suge I am only recommending this for your sanity and mental health. We do not need to lose you as a poster I just think some time off would be good for you. I think Peter's beating and quit job did a number on you. Please consider this.
