I guess that's because people say that cruisers are 210-225 on fight night, maybe they're exaggerating. If that's true, then Foreman could've indeed fought at cruiser. If cruiser's are actually 176-199 pounds, then no.

However, I have to ask the question, if today's cruisers are 210-225 pounds on fight night, then what's the difference between them and the heavies that size of times past? How is a 210 pound "cruiser weight" any different from a 208 pound heavyweight Evander Holyfield, as far as size goes? I doubt cruiser's are that big on fight night as Holyfield still would've been a cruiser (not meaning a natural cruiser, but still fighting in that weight class) even after "moving up".

Louis and Frazier are "iffys". Technically, they could still have been heavies but could've made cruiser.

Consider that he lost to a 197 pound Ellis, a 203 pound Frazier and many thought he was lucky to get by a 194 pound Patterson... I would say... uh... No.

It makes no sense that three guys who made or could have made the cruiser limit actually beat him and that fact might shed some light on his abilities to be an elite cruiser?

    OK.

Guess Muhammad Ali's not an all time great because he lost to five "guys who made or could have made the" heavy limit.

If Quarry was granted sole access to this heavy>>>cruiser group, then yes. He'd be up there. If we re-assessed everyone, then he should get in line behind my top cruisers:
    1. Langford
    2. Dempsey
    3. Johnson
    Etc....

Quarry would beat James Warring to death in a one sided affair.

Back to the topic, as for being an all time great at cruiser, Jerry's habit of producing unpredictable performances would probably dog him. That being said he would likely win and lose the title several times.

I like Quarry bit find him very over rated .. at "cruiser" he could not beat Ellis, really struggled w an old Patterson, got destroyed by Frazier. I can easily see a dozen others beating him .. he is known more for his upsets over bigger slower guys than the best at his own size ..
