Would Joe Calzaghe Go Through Nigel Benn And Chris Eubank's Resumes Undefeated

Also, Lindell was robbed against Kalule (who gave peak Leonard fits) and Park (almost as bad as Roy Jones Olympics), stopped on cuts against Davison (former world #1 to Hagler) and Graham (future world #1 to Hagler) [Graham headbutt] and Van Horn was a bodyshot/exhaustion KO in a fight he was winning. Calzaghe wasn't as good as Herol Graham.

Lindell hit so hard he uppercutted a few of his opponents over the top-rope, he doubled his left hook at breakneck speed and threw himself into awesome right hands - only man to ever stop Sanderline Williams (Benn and McClellan failed). He was a master of parrying and countering with big shots, and one of the most avoided fighters ever (world #1 at 160 for years).

 

Oh and Holmes already beat Davison as an amateur.

 

Yes he would go through their resumes undefeated, like he did his own stronger SMW resume.
the only thing that I could see being a problem is how often Eubank fought and Calzaghe did have a few injuries in his career, so probably wouldnt have fought in the same time lines

 

Tate was no where near the same after the Nunn schooling.

Kalule: I've no idea what fight you were watching, Kalule won clearly
Park: Was nothing special at all, he was just lucky to have been around when he was, if he was a SMW in the Benn, Eubank RJJ era or now, he'd have been nothing more than a journeyman
Graham: Calzaghe's not as good as him? do me a f*****g favour and he was beating Holmes before the stoppage anyway.

 

Tate was too tight at 160 for the Nunn fight and much fresher and stronger and better at 168.

He outjabbed Kalule.

Graham-Holmes was close before the butt.

Yes, Graham was clearly better than Calzaghe! The guy made MIKE MCCALLUM look like an amateur for six rounds. McCallum would've made Calzaghe look like an amateur.

 

Do you think Joe beats Carl Thompson at CW? That is the one on Eubank's resume that I have the most trouble giving Joe the nod.

 

I was only thinking of SMW and didnt think of the CW fight.
Thompson was a massive puncher, bigger than any CW today, and dont think any SMW would do well against him. What Eubank did in those fights was amazing and makes Calzaghes win look better as Calzaghe was the only fighter to get a clear win over Eubank

I actually reevaluated Calzahge's victory over Eubank.. Serge provided some great info, and I don't believe Eubank was in as bad a shape as most make out.. Joe himself was young and not 100% on the night either.. Eubank later proved against Thompson that he was still a formidable opponent.

I am sure the best Calzaghe beats the best Eubank convincingly.:yep

Eubank was on TV talking about his fights this week, and he seems a good guy and seems honest about his losses. He noted Calzaghe hit hard and often (though wasnt the biggest puncher he faced) and noted his hand speed

 

I have always liked Eubank's character, seems very honest and not near as egotistical as the common fighter.

Joe beat up on him pretty good, it seems Eubank knows that and can handle the fact just fine.. Now if we can only get Atberry on the same page.:rofl

 

No shame in Joe not being the biggest puncher Eubank has ever faced either.. He was in the ring with Nigel Benn and Carl Thopmson. But it should say something that Eubank noted Joe's power.
