Is Frazier one of those fighters that would be nigh impossible for a light heavyweight moving up to beat?

Depends on whether Frazier actually has to make LHW himself. Most small heavies that were great will be a handful for any LHW you care to name. That said, some LHWs have gone up to heavy and done well, or have fought heavies and done well. Beterbiev for instance is bursting out of his skin at LHW and I reckon he could easily fight at cruiser.

Yes he would be, I haven't seen the Lt.heavy that would last 10 rds with prime Frazier.
Hell, most heavyweights in history couldn't do that.

He beats them all.The Bob Foster knockout was brutal. I think Foster though was 0-4 at Heavyweight so maybe I overrate that one a bit

It has to be someone who is generally recognized and made a career at light heavy I.E. Archie Moore. Not someone who had a fight or 2 at light heavy before moving up

Because he is just about the biggest light heavy I can think of. He's fought at higher weights in the amateurs. I think Frazier's size advantage would be minimized against him. Stylistically Frazier likes to fight up close and so does Beterbiev. For me Beterbiev loads up less on his shots and has a wider selection. Not saying he'd win but I have a hard time seeing any LHW be a better match for Frazier

If Bob Foster who IMO is on the short list for GOAT couldn’t last two rounds, ain’t no light heavyweight got anything for prime Frazier..

I thought the 5ft 11.5ins Beterbiev looked noticeably smaller next to the clearly broader shouldered and much more heavily muscled, thicker set, Anthony Yarde.

Beterbiev is a decent sized LHW, but he wasn't as big as Michael Moorer, for example.

On answer to the thread, no, I can't see any career LHW beating a peak Frazier.

If he’s just standing around at heavyweight and munching 175 pounders as they come up then yes. I can’t think of anyone who would be successful against Joe Frazier under those circumstances
