Would Joe Louis and Marciano have taken Foreman`s power a well as Peralta did?

Marciano's biggest problem is that he is going to be coming forward when Foreman hits him. The chances are that this fight resolves itself very quickly.

Louis probably gets Foreman before Foreman get's him, but either way, something is going to give.

The bottom line is that it is highly unlikely that either fight goes the distance.

Not all of Foreman`s shots were that hard against Peralta, he threw his punches from wherre his glove was held, outstrecthed ready to parry shots so the shots didn`t travel far, his jab was really hard though and he landed some savage righht hooks to the body, his power was inconsistent.

Peralta was a actually ko'd just once in116 fights,by Mauro Mina,he was stopped on a cut eye by Pastrano, and tkod by Foreman in their 2nd fight. He faced Foreman twice, Urtain,Bonavena ,and Lyle twice,if he didnt have a good defence I suggest he must have had a very good chin!
Personally I think his defence was very good.

I think prime Joe Louis would have been really active against Foreman. Though classic George was definitely faster handed than many give him credit for, his speed couldn't have matched up to Joe (who, at his best was a little like a heavyweight Prior, force of nature).

I'm sure George could have knocked Joe unconscious, but I don't see Joe calming down enough to get hit flush. Joe would have blown him out with his incredible combinations imo. George stopped in 8.

It has nothing to do with the weight. If Rocky weighed 220 lbs it would still be a bad style matchup. He would still be giving up height and reach disadvantages, he would still have a come forward aggressive style lacking defense, and he'd still be fighting fire with fire. Bringing a rifle to a machine gun fight. And at that weight, Rocky's legendary stamina likely would be far less legendary given his physical dimensions and work rate.

Ditto for Joe Louis. He might have a little more strength and power but it wouldn't change the fact Louis had gotten knocked down more times than i can count off the top of my head--often times by people who didn't hit remotely in the same ball park as Foreman. He was no elusive fleet footed dancer or cagey defensive wizard by any means but he did have fast hands. Foreman could make up for the difference in hand speed with his surprising accuracy and murderers intention combined with Louis' lack of foot speed.

With their actual weights in their fights, the stylistic disadvantages become that much worse. Outside of a punchers chance, there is no way Rocky is surviving the early rounds to make his wear you down relentlessly style work for him. And Joe Louis would lack the strength and durability to win in a fire fight at close or mid range.

Louis destroys a prime Tyson. Look at what Pinklon Thomas did with the jab. Louis jab would be murder

    Carry on then.

But in all seriousness, there have been reports of people losing jobs and other things for not having the "right opinion" or expressing wrong think on the issue of BLM. In my opinion, anything should be open to criticism. Slippery slope towards totalitarianism.

Tony Galento and Buddy Baer were in Foreman's punching power league.

Well that's a pretty bold and funny claim but even if we entertain the idea:

-Galento had a powerful left hook but not much else. He was a chubby poor man's David Tua and slacked off in training. He was also 5'9 with short arms and had to bull his way inside. He made up for his lack of finesse with flagrant fouls and rough-house slugging. Foreman is an entirely different sort of opponent, most importantly he had power in both hands and had far better ring IQ and finishing ability than Galento.

-Buddy Baer, what exactly did he accomplish? What ko's did he have that put him in the same ballpark as Foreman? Did he ever destroy an undefeated prime heavyweight champion? Foreman did it twice.

Again, even if we entertain the idea their power was the same, they were not in the same class. Foreman had a devastating jab, knew how to parry and smother punches, was superb at cutting off the ring, could dig in with body shots, was a better combination puncher, etc.

I repeat, if Louis gets into a fire fight with Foreman, he is gonna have to be peeled off the canvas with a putty knife. If he can fight a cautious, smart tactical fight and survive the early onslaught I could see him outpointing him or even stopping him late with his blistering counters and combinations. This doesn't seem likely though.
