Would Joe Louis and Marciano have taken Foreman`s power a well as Peralta did?

Louis was a far better combo puncher than George and had better balance after punching, George`s combo`s didn`t look that great v Peralta.

Not all George`s punches were hard but he was heavy handed and a harder puncher thanGalento and a better finisher than the inept Baer.

George punched harder to the body than those two and that wears a fighter down.

Tyson was improving at that time, getting better with each fight and he adapted to Thomas`s jab eventually after Rooney had words with his in the corner.

Louis`s defense was far better than George`s and he was a better counter puncher too, his feet were always in position to counter.

Lyle could be compared to Louis in raw power but lacks tbe finesse or hand speed. Foreman said he was the hardest hitter he faced in over 70 fights including the big sluggers of the 90's and no way Louis was way above them in terms of raw power. He was not hurt against young or Ali, his legs were not wobbly and he was not groggy or had hazy eyes. Foreman actually mentioned in a tweet he was never hurt in a boxing match.

No You can't say the same thing about foreman. He was knocked down by basically being completely gassed and stumbling from the momentum of his own wild swings walking into counters recklessly. He had approximately 4 knockdowns in his career sue to exhaustion.

Louis was knocked down multiple times by walcott in their 1st fight and once in the 2nd. Down against Braddock in the first. Down and out against marciano. Who knows how many against Schmeling. Down against Galento, down multiple times against buddy Baer. I think there were other ones too so we're talking at least 12 knockdowns and 2 knockouts at various points all throughout his career. There is no comparison, he aoways looked vulnerable and had to shake things off. Shakey chin, but good recovery. Foreman's was solid granite as proven by him coming back as a fat old man and taking flush bombs from Morrison, Briggs, holyfield, Cooney etc which shows his issues in his prime were stamina and pacing related.

Fought back when hurt? Have you SEEN the Lyle fight? He won fight of the year and it was an absurd come back in a hopeless situation.

Buddy Baer >>>>> Joe Frazier! Yes, Buddy Baer could repeat Foreman's spectacle over old Joe.

And Galento would finish off Jose Roman and Ken Norton.

It seems that Joe Louis hit harder than Lyle.

You could take the worst prime/near prime performance of Louis, Marciano, or Foreman, and use it to argue that the other two would have beaten them.

That kind of argument does us a disservice, because it rarely anticipates what would happen, when two great fighters collide.
