You are right, but I have to give Jones credit for taking the risk. It probably hurt his legacy for a while. But coming back from to devastaing loses like that, with all the money he has earned. He has a fighter spirit and would love him to fight Calzaghe or Johnson again not to much of Tarver. Honestly I just think Tarver might had his number, every fighter has that problem

IMO, he could have stopped Tito almost anytime he chose after the first KD.

I don't know why, but I believe he carried him for the remainder of the fight.

He should take on the winner of the Tarver vs Woods fight. Tarver should win. I think fans are confusing Woods for someone else due to Woods getting KOed by someone with his hands behind his back. If Jones wins, then call out Glenn. I don't think Glenn is going win his next fight. I did not see the Jones vs Trinidad, but I did not hear anyone ever say that Tito had a chance to win. I do agree with the other post that Jones should have KOed Tito to make a statement that he is back. Right now, Jones better fight anyone just to be ring ready for the bigger fights.

It's possible. He DID go for a KO after the first KD. (The one that Tito had the delayed reaction on). But I think maybe he felt that he would risk further injury if he went to hard at him. He pulled back after that.

NO. Tarver will always pose stylistic problems for RJJ, and he didn't look that bad in his last fight. At least he is fighting full-fledged LHV's who aren't blownup MW's coming out of retirement. Tarver almost stopped RJJ in the 11th round last time, he just got overzealous.

Tarver will most likely stop Woods and fight Dawson-Johnson winner. People hate on Tarver so much because he crushed their idol.

That's one of the worst excuses ever. It's a fight and RJJ would of stopped him if he could have, but he was gun shy in a fight he won convincingly.

i really don't understand why Tarver gets such a bad wrap on message boards. Maybe it deals with the Rocky movie and or the Hopkins fight. But again, this is Bernard Hopkins.

That said, theyv'e already fought three times and Tarver arugably has 3 wins over him. He is a bad style match for Jones. I'm assuming all the Tarver "haters" have forgotten how Roy looked good in Round 5 of their third fight but how he was damn near out on his feet later in the fight from Tarvers right hook.

I don't know where the "Tarver is shot" complaints come from either. Should he beat Woods impressively I guarantee those that "say" that will be completely invisible from further Tarver commentary.

Tarver strikes me as one of those guys that needs not only be motivated but a lot of it depends on his preparation. I imagine thats why he went back to Jimmy williams over Buddy McGirt because Buddy has a bigger slate of fighters. Meaning he's not going to get the undivided attention he may need.

Tarver I think is smart enough to know at 39 that his window is VERY short and that despite the haters that exist, he has a viable NAME that he can make a few more millions with should he win.

I'm not selling Woods short one big btw. Oh and in a forth fight with Jones, Tarver still wins by decision again based on the style problem (namely the southpaw stance and Tarvers left hand).

Maybe he'll beat Tarver but Tarver is shot as **** so it wouldn't mean jack to his legacy.

But Johnson...I am convinced that Jones is scared of him.

Jones could do it if he let his hands go consistently. Look at round 5 of the third fight -- Tarver had no answer. The problem is that Jones is either gun shy or gasses out too quickly these days, maybe even a combination of the two. There's also the fact that Tarver can still hurt Jones -- he stunned him at times in the first fight, knocked him out in the second fight, and shook him in one of the late round of the third fight, nearly knocking him out again.
