Exactly this. People who now jump on the bandwaggon and point out Ruiz Jr's alleged "great amateur record" or "exceptionally fast hands" are oblivious to recent HW history. We're seen this movie before and we know how it plays out.

Besides Povetkin, Chagaev I'd like to point out two other hyped HWs during Klitschko's reign who were supposed to be major threats:

    1. Golden Gloves winner Christobal Arreola - who going into the fight vs. Vitali was touted to be the next 'next big thing' (pun intended) in latino boxing. Like with Ruiz Jr. Arreola's combination punching and hand speed skills were hyped into oblivion. And, to add insult to injury, were told that his obesity issues do not matter because "boxing is not a bodybuilding contest".
    2. Olympic Gold medal winner or arguably the most decorated amateur of HW boxing of his decade, Odlanier Solis. Again, we were told how his "deadly power would be too much for the current reigning HW titlists" and the 30 lbs extra he was carrying around "aren't bothering him at all as he moves so well".

Does any of this non-sense sound familiar compared to the horsesh** we're being fed about Ruiz Jr? History rarely repeats but boy does it rhyme sometimes.

I thought you were talking about Ruiz, but anyway sanders had faster hands than AJ.
