You thinking every fight he won he was juiced up an every fight he lost he wasn’t?

It’s hard to lose something that he never had.

Much respect to and appreciation of Ken but I'm going with Pac on this one.

Referring to Buchanan as a "chump" indicates a very poor level of knowledge of boxing in the early seventies, Cyril.

I see no one is willing to answer who Buchanan beat that was anywhere near as good as Pac. Nuff Said.

Buchanan beat Ismael Laguna twice and Carlos Ortiz, both of them ATG fighters. Laguna is one of the greatest Panamanian fighter behind Duran while Ortiz is arguably the best Puerto Rican fighter alongside Trinidad and Gomez.

Yes both of them were that good.

Buchanan would beat the raw, predictable Pac that relied too much on the straight left hand, much like Morales did in the first fight.

The more improved, dynamic Pac I think would have convincingly beat Buchanan with his overwhelming speed and possibly stop him late.

That's only one part of the equation tho no matter who you favor. History is absolutely littered with examples of that single criteria being overcome.

HAHAHA. Ortiz was absolutely ancient when Buchanan beat him. It was Ortiz' last fight in his 17th year as a pro and Ortiz wasnt even rated at the time. Laguna was already starting to fade by the time Buchanan beat him in their first bout which is Buchanan's greatest win and even then he literally won by only one point. It was a split decision and a single round different on one card would have given the decision to Laguna. Good luck finding anyone who thinks Laguna was as good as Pac. Lets face it, when you entire legacy is built around bitching about not getting a rematch in a bout you werent even competitive in you kiss the idea that you are beating Pac goodbye. Buchanan wasnt as good as anyone who beat or came close to beating Pac anywhere near his prime, anywhere near 135, he isnt as good as Pac, and he wasnt as good as several of the men Pac beat. Hes one of the most overrated fighters Ive ever seen and frankly its bizarre.

Pac only fought once at LW...David Diaz for a tittle at the weight.

That Pac destroyed Diaz and would destroy Buchanan as well, as of course, any later version of Pac would.

And IMO, any later version of Pac could have made 135, if he was of a mind to.

He could have stayed at LW and ruled the division for thirteen or fourteen years.

He only fought one fight at 135 & scored a KO.Then you have to look at what he did at 140-147-154 & if he could take on & defeat Shane Mosely with ease & Oscar & Cotto & Margaritto Than fighting & beating Buchanan wouldn't be much of a problem. What big named boxer did Buchanan beat? Just because he fought & lost the title to Duran he is this great champion. This is a joke Pacquaio is already considered a P4P great & destroyed some big named boxers & in 8 different weight divisions.Lets not forget ending Hattons career at 140 when he KO him with 1 punch in the 2nd rd.

Well said.I can't believe this is a debate. These old people still living in the past & probably do not even watch boxing in the last 30 years. If Pacquaio could easily beat good boxers like Mosely,Cotto,Hatton,Oscar etc at bigger weight classes & lose to a boxer that is not even known unless you really know the sport & who's whole reputation is on losing his title to a young Duran.Of all the great boxers Pacquaio has fought only one gave him problems & that was another great boxer in Marquez who i think is the 3rd greatest Mexican boxer of all time (Only behind Chavez & Sanchez) their 4 fights are legendary.
