Looks like your fighter is losing the vote.As far as the insults go I have have watched boxing for 50 years & eat-crap boxing in my sleep. What i don't do is put a fighter with no resume except Duran up against a great fighter like Pacquaio its an insult to Pacquaio & boxing.Pacquaio has a legendary resume & against bigger, better fighters than one Buchanan.Marquez vs Pacquaio 4 fights will be talked about for some time to come.Buchanan Has Duran who stopped him get real.

I know of only 1 fighter but Buchanan Lost.If your going to compare two great fighters against each other make sure their both considered great.Putting Buchanan up against Pacquaio is an insult to boxing & Pacquaio.

The sheer truculent childish belligerence on display in this thread by grown men is truly something to behold. I take my hat off tbf, living with that type of mindset must be fecking exhausting.

Why? Because Pacquiao has shown a tendency to fade down the stretch, and would have trouble keeping up his high work rate over the extra 3 rounds?

Buchanan had a great talent of finishing fights strong in his prime and winning close fights because of those final rounds. That's why I'd favour him in 15

Kenny definately has a shot against the operatic singer pacman that showed up to get floored by Marquez.
Against the Pac that showed up against ODLH then im leaning towards Pac.
    Great fight though!

Pacquaio speed & power at 135 would bust Buchanan up Pacquaio round 8 ko.Ricky Hatton was a 140 pounder & Pacquaio KO with 1 punch in rd 2.Cotto was a much bigger man than Buchanan & a better boxer & Pacquaio stopped him in rd 12.Its like one boxer said you do not understand just how fast he is or how hard he hits until you are in there with him.

It seems there are those who want to loosely place Pacquiao in the same bracket as Duran, in terms of level. I imagine this is to produce an impression of the mountain Buchanan would have to climb to best Pacquiao.

I think it's a stretch to compare Pacquaio and Duran so closely. I'd actually say there is a significantly wide gap between them and I sure wouldn't expect a Buchanan/Pacquiao bout to look anything like the Buchanan/Duran bout did.

Also - off the top of my head, I can't think of an elusive, out-boxing counter-puncher that Pacquiao beat during his career. He tended to fare better against boxer-punchers who stood right in front of him.

The closest of Pacquiao's top-tier scalps to Buchanan would probably be Marquez - mainly on account of the latter's focus on counter-punching. And none of his four outings against Marquez was an easy night.

    Just saying...

It's like pondering about Henry Armstrong vs. Ken Buchanan.

Yes, I put Pacquiao in Armstrong's class.. the highest class. Pacquiao is a destroyer equal to Duran, and whoever brought up Marquez, Manny wanted to fight him again ASAP, which says something about his fighting spirit.

Cotto "a better boxer" than Ken.

    My christ

Like icing an uncouth brawler like Hatton has any relevance in analysing this matchup. That deserves a double :lol:

Pac has had his share of beating more fleet footed boxers such as Chatchai Sasakul and Tim Bradley. To be fair you can say that about other ATGs that didn’t have a lot styles variety on their win resume where they mostly thrived off slower, aggressive, or more crude fighters. I don’t know any elusive counterpunchers that Mayweather or Ali beat other than Zab Judah or Jimmy Young. I also don’t recall Marvin Hagler having a win over an elusive counter puncher.

Duran is the greater and more skilled fighter than Pac but to say that they are so wide apart from each other considering the things Pac was able to do throughout his careers and the number of HOF fighters he’s beaten I think that’s a stretch.

I have to lean towards Pacquiao, probably sue to the fact I lived through his prime years as an avid fan and saw the heights he reached.

Buchanan did have an interesting style that Manny would struggle with, so I see it going the distance and could very well be one of those where it depends on what you like.

For those comparing Pacquiao with Duran, please stop. Both are greats but Duran is a top 10 ATG.

Have you seen one Buchanan fight that wasn't against Duran?
