Would he be champion today. As in #1 or one of the champions? Possibly.

He'd be better served at cruiser. It would be cruel to let him fight Wilder.

He would be like Davarryl Wilamson.

Sure, under right circumstances - why not?

Ken Norton's armadillo defence is outdated, it doesnt work today. Modern fighters use too many angles to hit and demolish this kind of defences and some of them can do that very rapidly... besides it is very unconfortable if you wants to counter punch. Old Foreman has been the last fighter who used it successfully but for a simple reason..because when he used to close his gigantic arms he became like the security door of Fort Knox. Genetics.

I rate Norton much higher as a fighter....a much more intelligent fighter than any of the players today, except for the mercurical and maniacal Fury. I think he could have very well beaten AJ or the Clown Prince Wilder. There isn't the equivalent of a circa '74 George Foreman anywhere on the scene today.

. No all that stuff still works. It just goes out of fashion, but it will comeback. Look at Floyd Mayweather. The style he used was a rehash of older styles. Bernard Hopkins too.

Today this technique can be demolished rapidly than at Nortons times...many boxers use more angles when they hit and very rapidly too besides it's dangerous because when you shut the arms on your face you cant see much and finally if adopted it takes away speed from the attack phase...real suicide if you are a counter puncher.

He would not be champion now, but he might have been a few years ago, or indeed a few years hence.

Cross arm defense is outdated now? Why? Could you elaborate?

I can see him beating Fury and I'm not one of these who believe that Norton would lose to any puncher he would face.

Cross-armed will never be outdated, it's just not used anymore. Few fighters use because it looks awkward and supposedly is difficult to throw punches from. Absurd.
