How would Norton fare with the modern big guys?

He'd do pretty well. He'd also be bigger owing to modern day nutrition and training methods.

I think he handles some of the lighter punching boxer types with relative ease, but stands little or no chance against men like Fury, Wilder and Klitscko. Povetkin is a tossup.

prime, he would come close to unifying against the K bros, if a retired flop like sanders can almost do it.

Styles make fights knucklehead. Norton didn't have the power, he wouldn't be able to trouble either brother with it. He gets stopped by both. Have to remember he was chinny(even more so than Wlad)

I don't like his chances at all against Klitschko or much against Povetkin.

I think he'd stop Wilder more often than not.

Still not sure exactly how I'd feel about him vs Fury. Weird matchup, but then again, Fury is a weird matchup against most historical heavyweights, win or lose.

Glazkov types would be ideal for him. No idea how he'd handle big southpaws like Thompson or Ortiz, but I'm not particularly optimistic. Thinking outside the box, someone like Huck would give him a lot of problems with the brawling and swarming.

The bottleneck with Norton will always be his chin and how he freezes up and gives away his athleticism once he's hit, but he would still do well with appropriate matchmaking.

I don't care how far apart they rate in a historical sense if that's where this going. Yeah Norton beat Muhamad Ali while Fury got decked by Steve Cunningham. We've all had arguments like these before... But no way can I see Ken Norton overcoming a 6'9", 260 lbs tank like Fury. Anyone who forced Ken to fight off the back foot was pretty much beating him, and in Tyson's case he'd be forcing Ken to fight from the damn ringside seats.

he doesn't have the power to seriously kill true, but its enough to stop wladdier chin if shot2shyte fattie retired sanders was enough.

"styles make fights" is of course true, but also whats true is "when wladdie steps up he gets atomised"

Sanders hit harder than Norton, and presented a kind of challenge Norton didn't despite being an inferior fighter overall. Also let's not forget Norton was stopped by Jose Luis Garcia. Wlad stops Norton :good

sanders was a retired failed fatboy brought in to fall early, but refused to read the script. That's what sanders was.

He would do very well. Most likely beats everybody not named klitschklo. Has a serious chance to beat either Klitschko, but, could lose to either one if not in top form. Norton would DESTROY bums like Wilder and Fury. He is on another level skill wise to them, and hit plenty hard enough to put them both down and out.

How do you figure that ?
Fury likes to box on the backfoot himself. I wouldn't describe him as a "tank" either, more like a lanky type.

Well if time machine fights ever become possible then message me. I'm putting my house, first born and everything I hold dear on Fury.

    Fair enough. :good

Been following Fury his whole career, and to me, it is amusing that he's being picked over Ken Norton.
