Ask about Fury vs. Norton on October 25. It'll be much easier to project a winner then.

I love Norton, but I think both Klitschkos would likely beat him. Ken, however, would beat up a lot of the contenders that they've defended against.

He'd win some and lose some. 6'3" with an 80" reach and he was still ripped when he weighed 220 Lbs. He was just a little bigger than Holyfield. He was big enough and strong enough, he had decent power as well. He boxed well but some question his chin. He was stopped early in his career but avenged that loss by KO (Garcia). During his prime he was only stopped once (LKOby2 Foreman, Frazier had the same result vs. Foreman). A past prime Norton was stopped by two huge punchers named Shavers and C00ney. He fought virtually even with some of the best boxers of the 70's like Ali x3, Young, and Holmes. He also stopped Quarry and other decent HWs of the day.

He wouldn't beat Klitschko but he'd beat plenty others.

    Good post Hookie!

I would add that Holyfield took mucho working out & an unknown quantity of PEDs to get near Norton's size.

Good post Hookie. Wlad beats him fairly easily. Povetkin likely would as well. I'll reserve judgement on Fury although I am not overly impressed with him. October 24th will be an important night in assessing his abilities. I would pick Norton over Wilder easy. I would take him over Takam, Perez, Glazkov, and Jennings in a good fight.

I agree Vince. If Fury pulls off the upset then I will happily eat humble pie. Nothing would please me more than a change in the heavyweight championship and Fury will deserve massive credit if he does it. I'm not getting my hopes up though.

The only decent opponent Wilder has fought is Stiverne. Have you seen the candidates for his next fight? The guy is taking the safest route possible. I can't say I rate that beanpole at all.
Fury is a big man with mediocre skill but I think he-s got suspect whiskers. He was wobbled by journeyman Nikolai Firtha and dropped by Pajik and Cunningham. None of these guys are punchers.
So I don't like to go against Magoo here but I don't think Fury is a certainty to beat Ken at all. He is huge though and has a fair degree of heart so it's no certainty either way.
I think Wlad is the only one of the bunch I would safely pick to beat Ken and even then you just don't know.
To be honest I gave not seen enough of Povetkin to make a call there...

its your credibility you should worry about by claiming that a shot 37 year old retiree has fast hands compared to a prime young opponent.

In fact, its speedsters who suffer most from boxing at that age, with the reactions being first to fade significantly, so quite why you are trying to claim against the whole of human biology is beyond me. Kliturdity, I assume - reversing the facts for the benefit of the k bros.

Norton, would do fine in todays Hw division and titlist. Wlad been koed 3 times by lesser guys that Norton and D. Williamson knocked him down too.

I think you are right about Norton and the kind of guys that would beat him, but don't see how Fury is that kind of an opponent? He is a mover that uses his jab to pile up points and slowly breaking his opponents down. The last two guys he fought retired late in the fight after taking a million blows. Early in his carreer he was more aggressive, but not anymore. He is not a puncher but a boxer that fights on the back foot and uses his reach. To my eyes he is nothing like Foreman on Shavers, but more like Joe Bugner. A bit more aggressive and with more pop of course, but he would not move forward and impose himself on Norton. That's not how he wants to fight. And Norton was great against boxers. I think he would do fine against Fury.

Mr M I don't think Fury's power is top flight, nor his chin either.he has improved ,but who has he really beaten?

If a 36 years old 210lbs Cunnigham can floor Fury, I think Norton could.:think

I must be missing something with Fury. All I see is an out of shape moderately talented lump.

    I agree
Who the **** is Fury all of a sudden. That's comical.
Norton had a nasty overhand righ which stiff as a board Fury walks right into.
