Plenty of Fury head movement in Wilder 2. You seem a little confused.

I know you like to bait but if we're comparing fighters in the early parts of their career I wouldn't go there Fury got a gift vs McDermott and he was dropped heavily by Pajkic who had 4 KO's.

McDermott the decision was considered so bad they changed how British title fights were scored.

    As I said "McDermott"

Maybe not walked him down exactly but he toyed with him, and clearly wasn’t bothered with any return fire as he was with Wilder.

He stepped back and rolled with the right hands. Im just not seeing it. Fury is coming off second best if he exchanges with Norton up close, he still struggles to turn his punches over, and Kenny would duck or block most of those overhand rights his gaurd was compact. Fury would get hit with numerous left hooks trying to maul Norton. Really I see the opposite, Norton would be the one waking Fury down, trying to work the body. Fury would be establishing range and could time him with a hurtful shot

That was Fury's 8th fight. Garcia was Norton's 17th, and that stick man only weighed 188lb. That's what, a LHW by today's standards? He destroyed Norton. Fury has never been KOd. Can't say the same for Norton.

But I guess green-ness was measured differently back in the 70's.

Look again then. Maybe you were watching Shavers / Norton and confused Shavers for Fury?

5:02 Fury twitches head and shoulders
5:04 Fury bobs his head as he launches a body punch
5:12 Fury moves his head in and out, faking a lunge forward
5:15 Fury twitches head and shoulders, hunching up
5:19 Fury steps in and out bobbing his head
5:23 Fury moves his head from side to side
5:30 Fury fakes a lunge and then lunges, ducking his head
5:33 Fury twitches in and out, signalling a non existent attack

Hope this helps you to get started

Norton was down vs. Dutra, Gilmore, Eastling, 3x Garcia, and more later on...
I've always scored all three Ali - Norton fights for Norton. The Holmes - Norton fight I have always scored about 10-5 for Holmes. Holmes had a torn bicep and was an unknown at the time, Norton had fought Ali and been in a movie or two so the boxing establishment went out of their way to score for KN. KN was known and could bring money to them.

When I've scored the Ali fights, I have Norton winning all of them comfortably. Against Ali, KN got the "Holmes" treatment. Ali was the cash cow so the boxing establishment went out of their way to score for Ali. I remember one of the fights when we scored it for the Fight of the Week on this board, and at the time KN was hitting Ali almost at will and the announcer was screaming and excited saying, "Ali's talking to him" that's all he saw. The announcer had no concept that Ali was losing just that he was talking.

I'll agree with this. Ali got pretty lucky with some of his decisions. Almost Canelo-like.

Norton beats him majority of the time.

Better combinations, comparable or better head movement, less of a target with his more optimal size, crossguard, and upper-body movement, infinitely better body puncher, better inside, far more athletic, better two-fisted combinations, better corner if Futch is in. More awkward than Fury actually.

Fury has recuperative power and reach on Kenny, but prime Norton does worse things to him than 37-year old Usyk after a lifetime one the road, who arguably stopped the Gypsy in nine.

    Excellent post.

Yes Fury exhibited less defense against Whyte than he did against Wilder.... but it was Whyte. Fury took his best shots without flinching and walked through them. Their was simply no need for some next level defense. Had he been fighting someone like Wilder, or Joshua, he would've definitely been a lot more cautious, and not nearly as complacent.

So you think Norton would do better than Usyk, and drop Fury? What noteworthy opponents did Norton drop? He couldn't drop Ali despite breaking his jaw in the first fight where Ali came in the worst shape of his career up to that point, and facing an extremely faded one in their third fight. Didn't drop Holmes. Didn't drop a shot Quarry. Didn't drop Young. Definitely didn't drop Foreman.

He didn't stop any of these opponents either despite the aforementioned shot Quarry who would go on to retire.

He was good against boxers and had the punch to hurt him, so I would think so.

I pick Fury to win, but it could be a hell of a fight.

If you had Norton winning comfortably vs Ali in their 2nd fight then you need to learn how to score a fight.
