Voted yes but I don't think he would beat him what you call convincingly.

I think this is a super fight. Obviously, I don't mean that in the sense that Leonard/Hearns was a super fight. However, I think the styles of these two would be excellent complements and we'd see the bombs flying.

Given what I've seen of each--I would like to see more of Kessler than I have--I believe that it would be very close. The power edge probably goes to Pavlik, but I don't think it's a wide margin. Kessler may have a little bit of speed on him, both hand and foot, but I don't see it being a huge advantage. They're very similar fighters in a lot of respects.

I will say that even though Pavlik was fighting a C+ level fighter last night, his defense impressed me. What I am inclined to conclude is that he actually does not have porous defense, as it may have looked against Taylor, when he faces guys without elite speed. Say what you will about Taylor, I give him a decided handspeed edge on both Pavlik and Kessler.

I'm split how I see this going, but I doubt Kessler wins convincingly. Let's see how he looks coming back against a live body after this joke of a WBA bout.

    Its a 50-50 fight in my eyes...and I ain't a Yank.

I would have to see Pavlik in a warm-up fight at SMW (against someone half decent) before making a definitive prediction.

He's not superior to Pavlik in every way. Heart is one factor he's beat. Pavlik came off the canvas to win his belt. Kessler was made to look like an amatuer in his big shot. One guy made the most of his opportunity....the other guys lost his badly and looks to be going back to facing 'hometown' competition.

Either way, this is nothing but a "UK v. US" thread....Never saw one of those here before...

Pavlik by late stoppage. Kessler needs to keep busy or he is not going to beat anyone. I know he is scheduled to fight for a title, but inactivity is the mother of some loses. Pavlik vs Joe would be much better.

For one thing. Kessler was scared to fight Miranda and flat out ducked him to fight untelevised to a nobody. Another thing Pavlik would beat Kessler into submission late. Kessler can dish but he cant take it. Pavlik can dish and take it. Kessler had problems taking Calzaghes weak hooks and body shots..lol. Pavlik would beat that ass.

No. We want Joe to man up and face Pavlik. Yes, I think it is an easier fight for Kelly.

Right now as of today I'd say Kessler KO's Pavlik late in a prety competitive and entertaining bout. But if Kelly keeps showing steady improvement like he did last night, I would have no problems in picking Pavlik the winner in a few months from now.

 Kessler cant beat bums and former Featherweights convincingly

Kessler is the second most over rated fighter on this site next to Margorito. Put it this way Calzaghe put a pretty good whipp'n on Kessler. then won a close somewhat disputed fight over a damn near 50 year old Hopkins who lost twice to Taylor who lost twice to Pavlik. The writing is on the wall...I dont think that either Kessler or Calzaghe beats either Taylor of Pavlik convincingly...In fact i dont think that they would beat them at all:good
