Looking back i didn't appreciate how good he was in terms of ability, he never lived up to his potential but being a British & Commonwealth champion is no mean feat. He was a tear up artist sadly, I take it there was outside the ring problems as well?. I'll never forget the Mutley fight when he was losing and somehow pulled it out the bag. Would he of beaten Khan?. Not for me he was good operator but we must remember he lost to the likes of Nuumbembe and was losing to Young Mutley. McIntyre boxed beautifully against him as well. Bar dragging Khan into a brawl i can't see him boxing well enough and disciplined enough to win. I think if he did get Khan into a brawl he'd of shipped plenty of punishment on the way in.
Look at him here at 2:40 onwards, A fantastic combination. The lad was very talented but then this vid shows how up and down he was.. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nedMl-r-ag4&feature=relmfu[/ame]
As you say, a fantastic combination. I think Anderson was an unsung hero, a wasted talent, he had so much talent that he could still dominate guys if he gave half of it up for free . Kevin did lose to some guys he should have beaten, but he was still one of the most naturally gifted fighters in scottish history
Totally agree BB, It's a shame cos his ability was that of a world class fighter offensively. Read that he planned to sue the Board cos they made a mistake on his MRI scans and his last 4 fights he may of had a issue and they didn't detect it..
For a second i thought you put KENNY anderson and I was going to say I don;t think Khans chin would hold up too good lol
Really good fighter- there was something missing to stop him being a top fighter but still a top boxer.
The Board cannot miss something on the scan, the radiologist who reports the scan would be to blame, their reports usually use wording that makes it very difficult to sue.
This is the article, it's from April this year.. http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sco...ero-to-sue-chiefs-for-brain-scan-blunder.html
Not sure of the result but Khan would have known he was in a fight as kevin anderson worked from the 1st to 12th and had a good chin and could hit a bit so its a sit on the fence for me .
