Mayweather has made a fortune by playing the bad guy role in every promotion he has done since fighting Corrales. If he were to fight Khan, there would be no good guy to promote. Khan talks just as much (and stupidly) as Mayweather but hasn't accomplished nearly as much so he comes off as a bigger ass. From an American perspective, Floyd represented his country as an Olympian and Khan is not only British, buy Muslim. Again, Floyd looks like the good guy. If Floyd loses his audience of haters, more than half his PPV buys go out the window. Khan has an international audience that could make up for some of that loss but I have a hard time believing that Khan has more supporters than Mayweather has detractors. That being said, outside of hard core boxing fans, would the fight sell?
It will sell, and it'd sell well. It'd be billed as Floyd vs Khan and Freddie, to see if Pacquaio's trainer really does now how to beat Floyd.
****stani white knight to money mayweather "heel" persona? khan/roach vs mayweather? cmon. there are too many good sub plots to this. of course this is a huge money maker.
Floyd ai'nt the PPv draw it's his opponants:yep he's a parasite:deal Fighting Khan would be explosive as Floyd's bound to say something on 24/7 to spark off another round of suicide bombings:smoke
I know he has a pretty big fan base. I also know he has just as big of a hater base. I'm just wondering if the hater base would buy this fight.
