Andre Ward? Afterall, Nard only has another ABC title while the
linear champ is very beatable. Ward, on the other hand, has the
highest credentials in terms of recognition as the most elite fighter.
I get the impression that making fights w/ the russians team is easy
and with Ward seemingly rival-less right now, team SOG might have
no trouble at all getting the russian to the Oracle.
    Thoughts?

It showed wisdom on his part. He's not gonna give Hopkins a chance to take advantage of his lack of boxing knowledge. After a couple of more fights, B Hop will be hard to find. He already hits like a wrecking ball and he has good fundamentals and technique. All he needs to make Hopkins think twice is a little more ring savvy.

Of course he would get respect for fighting Ward- however I think Ward would also get mad respect for fighting him

to fight Ward at 175, yes, to go donw to 168- no, because he doesn't belong there, and we don't need another Ward-Dawson

Kovalev's already said he ain't really able to go down to 168. I don't imagine Ward's gonna be too eager to go up to 175 right now either.

    exactly

just look at Cleverly after he feels the first few punches Kovalev landed on him, Ward's no idiot, he knows that Kovalev is far too dangerous and he won't take the Russian on, even if HBO would push for it
