Fury needs to get back to boxing, slim back down to around 18 stone again so he's lighter on his feet he's still only 35. Call me crazy, but I think Lennox Lewis would be a great addition to Tyson Fury's training team. He was trained by the late Emanuel Steward who taught Sugar Hill everything he knows. He was also the last undisputed heavyweight champion so that might put the fire back into Tyson Fury's belly if this Usyk fight comes off. Lewis also had Mike Tyson's number so his tactical knowledge would be priceless if Fury rematches Ngannou at some point in the future.

Surely Lennox is too afraid of John Fury to enter that camp. We all know Lennox ducked him back in the day.

Unless Lewis has become an MD in psychiatry I'd avoid Fury.

Lennox is checked out of anything requiring effort. Haven't you heard his god awful commentary & interviews for the past years, don't bother.

No. Lewis isn't Emanuel, the egotistical Lewis failed as Price's trainer against southpaw Tony Thompson and if anything Fury needs to ditch Steward's nephew, not bring another member of the Kronk gym on board. Lewis also had no real southpaw experience, outside switch hitter knockover job blown-up LHW Greg Gorrell (who Lewis took 5 rounds to get rid of) and probably some sparring. He'd be utterly useless for Fury's Usyk camp.

"Lewis had a highly competitive 12 round fight with former 190 pounder Holyfield in the rematch (even with the considerable advantage of having Holyfield’s ex-trainer), who had been outpointed by Bowe and Moorer, KO’d in 8 by Bowe 4 years prior and was on the cusp of going 1-1-1 with J. Ruiz. Lewis also struggled with and gassed against the 214 lbs light punching journeyman-basher Mavrovic, who he claimed was his most fleet-footed opponent. But rather than comparing a 2019 Usyk to Holyfield or Mavrovic, Lewis compared him to Botha, illustrating his pronounced egotism and tendency toward underestimation. Malik Scott: a Toney, Lewis, Wlad, Povetkin and Fury sparring partner and Ortiz opponent stated that Usyk was the most skilled boxer he’d ever shared a ring with."

Lewis a true ATG, Fury will never be. The only connection there should be is Lewis connecting a slap across Fury's fat pork chops.

Lewis wasn't considered a "true great" when he retired. He was considered chinny and a weak hearted opportunist with a thin resume even up to Holyfield 2 by the American press. After the Rahman fight his stock took a massive tumble, at the point of his retirement he was considered a ducker. In Britain, perpetual runner-up Bruno was preferred: Lewis wasn't considered British due to his connections with Canada, Jamaica and fighting far more frequently in the United States.

Now many claim Lewis is the GOAT! It's always viewed differently in retrospect.

I could see why people viewed him as not being great at the time. Getting chinned by Rahman & McCall, shopworn Tyson nearly chinned him in round 1, the controversy surrounding who ducked who regarding Bowe, struggling with a damaged-goods Holyfield and taking 8 long rounds to put away a completely shopworn Tyson wasn't a good look. Not to mention the beatdown he got from Vitali, only winning the fight due to a technicality and refusing to give a rematch didn't do any favors.

That and more. There are several reasons for the massive change in opinion though, which I will write about at some point.

Lennox didn't succeed as a trainer/advisor at all. In fact, it look like Price lost all the confidence he had since he started to work with Lewis.

Also, Lewis was always predicting Klitschko's downfall in each and every of their fights. For example, he predicted that Alex Leapai would KO Wlad. The same was for Ray Austin. I mean, he picked even the biggest, hopeless underdogs to beat Klitschkos. Ironically, the only time he picked one of the K brothers was Fury fight, where he picked Wlad to KO Fury after Fury said some bad thing about him on Twitter.

Lennox was a great fighter, but awful trainer/advisor and even worse commentator.
