says you, so no worry there.

Sanders wasnt even able to land a title shot in his prime in the lewis era. Shot yourself in the foot there, hes not going to be danger jus becasue when shot2shyte retired he can easily destroy wlad in seconds.

time you learnt to stop bringing him into your argument.

Bingo. In a vacuum, where it's prime Lennox vs who Wlad fought, I could see him going through the whole thing unbeaten. H2H, he's an exceptional fighter, especially with Manny in the corner.

In the context of an entire career, in the real world, no way. The guys who beat Lennox weren't the best he fought, but they found a way to win regardless. That's what happens in long careers where you fight a lot of good fighters. 44-2-1 is a heck of a record by any measure, and he did it over 14 years. That's not going to convince me he goes 68-0 (69-0 if we're accounting for Joshua) vs Wlad's comp over a 20 year career, with 17-ish of it fighting world caliber opposition.

Nobody in the division's history has had the kind of consistency and longevity to make me believe anyone replicates Wlad's career unbeaten, so that's no knock on Lennox. For context, 49-0 Rocky Marciano's entire career was 8 years.

To put the longevity required into perspective, Wlad's first real "statement" win was destroying Schulz in '99 in his 30th fight. Joshua will be in 2017.

It's nearly an 18 year range. That time is the same as though Jack Johnson, Jess Willard, and Jack Dempsey's title reigns were combined as 1. Rocky Marciano would've been holding the belt through the FOTC.

Okay, but Schulz was only a contender. Let's go by when he won a title. If we go by when he beat Byrd to win the WBO belt in 2000, we'd be assuming he never lost it, giving Lennox credit for having a 16 and a half year title reign that was longer than his actual career.

Whoever has Manny Steward goes undefeated , ppl are forgetting that Steward was McCall's trainer in Lewis first loss.
His second loss was personal and he was clowning around in that fight. Those saying Lewis doesn't go undefetted are banking on that Lewis HIMSELF lets up and takes a fight lightly ,not exactly the competiton. its highly likel;y lewis has easier time with Wlads opponents than he did with his, im not sure how that is debatable. A fight with Byrd will just look like the Ike fight with the exception lewis wont be missing most of his punches and control the much smaller Byrd.

"A fight Sanders pursued for many years which never came off was against Lennox Lewis. "I always wanted to get Lewis in the ring. I knew I had the beating of him. When I fought [Vitali] Klitschko, Lewis chatted a lot with me and he admitted that they avoided me and were concerned about fighting me. I appreciated that he was prepared to admit it to me personally. It meant that I must have meant something."

by getting knocked the fcuk out by rahman, thus not getting into contention in order to land the title challenge.

but in kliturd land, where black is white, then not getting into contention for a shot is the same as being inline for a shot.

    such a flop mate.

you need to stop mentioning sanders too, its a massive autopitfall for you.

Ray mercer blew his shot twice against bowe, yet people, mostly lewis fans, say that bowe ducked him

Now i will say lewis ducked sanders, no matter if he blew his chance against rahman

Sanders was often mentioned in the 1990's to fight Lewis. Lewis picked easier opponents. Says history.

Imo McCalls stoppage of Lewis was worse than Sanders stoppage of Wlad.

For openers Wlad was able to get up and fight on. And Sanders hit harder than McCall.

To a large extent that is true.

What Wlad was good at was being very, very consistent, and what Lewis is noted for is turning in garbage performances that don't do justice to his talent. But here the question is not a prime, best-of version of Lewis one by one against Wlad's resume. The question is, "Could Lewis repeat Wlad's resume as it happened, and be undefeated?"

    The answer is clearly no.

ESPECIALLY if one looks at how Lewis was regressing at the tailend of his career, and considers that the slob version of Lewis is being pitched against Pulev, Wach, Povetkin, Jennings, Fury and soon to be AJ.

What's standing in Lewis' way of a white wash are three things:

    1) Wlad's incredible longevity at the top level
    2) Lewis' noted inconsistency in performing to his best ability
    3) Wlad's resume is not nearly as bad as people *cough*dino*cough*herol*cough* make it out to be.

There are some big hitters in there easily comparable to Rahman and McCall and a wider variety of styles and sizes than Lewis faced. People forget that there were NUMEROUS fighters that Wlad faced with a single loss or who were undefeated and he handled them all. There's a circular logic at work here. Nobody can beat Wlad, therefore the HW division is garbage, because if it wasn't garbage, then somebody would have whipped him.

Why is the reasoning not: Wlad is just so darn good at what he does, he makes all the othe HW's look like garbage?

Yeah , im going to go ahead and say no on that.

Wlad was a 42 fight seasoned professional and was making his 6th defence when inactive , old past prime Sanders blitzed him.

Lewis was only in his 24th fight and was making his 3rd defence when MaCall blitzed him.

Lewis went on to rematch and beat MaCall. Wlad ran for the hills against old faded Sanders and refused an immediate rematch.

MaCall went on to beat Larry Holmes and polaxe future champ Maskaev in the first round on top of racking up about 30 wins.
Sanders went on to do nothing.

Getting destroyed by a shot guy from the previews era is worse and everybody knows its worse.

The difference is Lewis avenged his loss and Wlad didn't.
