Don't retort like I'm some Floyd groupie. While I scored the first fight for Floyd barely, it was a fight I thought could have went either way, from judges at ringside. Also Loma fans like to bring up Castillo. Castillo>Salido. The Castillo from the Floyd fight would have violated Lomachenko, and no Luke Campbell isn't better than that Castillo either. That you would even make that claim is
Alot of these idiots weren't following boxing when jlc was in his prime. They know nothing about the man's career other than he gave pbf a tough fight.
I hate to say this but you dont know **** about boxing. Your analysis is so flawed that i don't even know where to start.
You see a thread like this and think "jeez that's a troll job even I'd be proud of" then you look and you see people actually making a case for the stupidity. Jesus
Prime Floyd IMO was around late 2001/early 2002 at 130 lbs. At that point he had over 25 pro bouts and was devoid of any major hand injuries. He was still putting 4-5 punch combinations together and was carrying around a 70% KO rate. First things first, Floyd is too big for Loma. He's too tall and he carries around a half a foot reach advantage. Giving a master technician a 1-2 inch reach advantage is bad enough, but a half of foot would be way too daunting- especially a guy who had such a good left jab to the body and upstairs like Floyd did. While I'm extremely impressed with Lomachenko, I'm not too sure what he does in the ring better than a prime Floyd. Mayweather's bigger, stronger, better counterpuncher, better jab work, he's probably just as fast with his hands and he's a superior defensive fighter. Loma might have him in the footwork department but even that's debatable. Floyd also has a much better chin which has been tested by guys 20+ pounds heavier than him on fight night at 147 and 154 lbs. Never saw him hurt once at 130 lbs. It would've been interesting to see that fight take place at 130 lbs. I personally rate Floyd as the greatest SFW of all time and at his very best I don't know any fighter that could beat him in that division. He was a marvelous fighter in his prime.
135lb Floyd was some cumbersome and awkwardly bad with southpaws that Floyd sr. had to call Roger and Ellerbe from Prison to demand no more match making with such AGAIN. Knowing that tells you all you need to know. A pressure fighting southpaw with surreal angles.
No its just that his best wins are nothing to write home about. They also came after Floyd, Casamayor and Diaz were pretty good. The Stevie Johnston one was a very close one too but he didn't follow it up with a great run.
I didn't say that, tf are you talking about? I'm just saying it how it is, Castillo was a weak champion and I'd say Luke Campbell will leave a better legacy than he has at the end of his career.
