Would Margarito have beat Mosley if he hadn't been caught...

After the fight, Mosley said in an interview that Margarito had very good power and stunned him on a few occassions. Had Margarito been using loaded gloves, could those very same punches Shane said stunned him, conceivably have him hurt him or gave him something to think about before letting his hands go as freely? I think so.

I won't say that Margarito would have won the fight had he had loaded gloves against Mosley. But I will say it's foolish to assume the fight would played out the same with or without loaded wraps.

 

Mosley wasn't getting hit with much more than the odd jab. Margarito was struggling badly to get off; Mosley was beating him to the punch constantly. He gets blasted every time.

 

Do you know where Mosley said that? I'd be curious to read the article - Mosley breaks his own fights down brilliantly.

 

I don't know why Margarito deserves the benefit of the doubt from anyone....about anything. He put himself in this position. And IF he didn't know his hands were being turned into bludgeoning weapons, then screw him 2x. Same goes for Cotto's people. If they had been doing their job, they would've caught him. They could've saved the their fighter and the whole boxing world this shame.

^^ this. We really wont know but I am glad he was caught. I think knowing that he was busted really ****ed margarito mentally going into the fight.

However mosley fought very well using his speed and range and really took very little shots.

I dont see any point in trying to discredit mosleys win by asking if he still would have won, which he probably would have. Margo shouldnt have been using the ****ing things in the first place so the point is moot.

 

Mosley would have still beat him. He executed a perfect gameplan and Margarito i believe was weight drained.
Anyways a healty Margarito does not beat a healthy Mosley. Its just not meant to be.

 

Most likely would have won imo. Mosely was tagged many times in that fight and although he won brutally it was not really an absolutely white wash win. There were some pretty tight exchanges.

This is obviously a Cotto hater banter and using Mosley to try and prove a point. Cotto under-utilizes his defense too much. If you look at most posters who are Cotto fans they don't site theat as "the only reason Cotto lost." We knew he had the wrong game plan.

And in regards to him having his gloves off, which right now I can't remember the inserts that he had was covered by wrapping tape so it's not like you would've noticed anything really.

People like to use the Williams fight to indicate that Margarito didn't use the plaster but if you look at the fight 6 foot plus Williams kept Margo at bay with his long reach and the pitty pat punches he threw for most of the fight so even if he had plaster that night it really wouldn't have mattered.

 

The Margo that fought Cotto, was a lot more focused and determined than the Margo that fought Mosley. Who knows, I think Mosley still wins by decision.

 

Stylez make fights and Mosley lookd more confident nd fought like he did as a LW wit more combo punching. MAyweathr's punk azz should fight him. I have 2 b honest. Mosley - Cotto - Clottey - Margarito - r da fab 4. Money May is just riding on his Lightweight stardom. He hadn't faced ANY of the aforementioned welters. He might as well go back to da lighter weights.
