Would Margarito have beaten Cotto in the rematch, if it wasn't for the cut?

    I see people talking about Margarito on here and wanted to see your opinions on this.

    Margarito looked like he was starting to get the upper hand on Cotto before the fight was stopped. I'm not sure if this was the case, but it certainly looked like it from an outsiders point of view.

    He couldn't land enough punches to beat Cotto the second time around. Cotto was not forced to fight with a broken nose from round 2 on thanks to plaster wraps as he was in the first fight.

    If Cotto had fought like he did in the rematch, he would have beaten him in their first fight too.

    Margo's stupid ass fought the same way in their rematch, thinking it was gonna be the same as the first. Cotto actually made changes.

    Looked like he was landing though, and cotto looked to be getting tired. I think the difference in the Cotto/Margarito fight, was the amount of pressure coming from Margarito. Whereas in the Mayweather/cotto fight, the pace was not as high tempo, and therefore gave Cotto the chance to keep stamina.

    Man none of us know for sure. We all have opinions but Margo was getting to Cotto at the end of that fight. Margo started landing uppercuts and Cotto was backing up to the other side of the ring.

    No, Cotto would continue to outbox him to a desicion, with the later rounds be somewhat closer than the previous rounds.

    I was there live and I kept saying, "some of this looks exactly like the first fight". I was then interested to see Max Kellerman was saying pretty much the exact same things on the HBO broadcast.

    There was a quarter of the fight still to go, Margarito was catching Miguel and marking him up, it would have been a tough last 3 rounds but I think Cotto would have held on. He moved a lot more in the early stages, absorbed less as a result.

    Yes, the rematch was a carbon copy of the first fight, except that this time Margo's eye fell off

    Even if Cotto was winning every round on points, Margarito's modus operandi ain't about winning rounds, he wears you down with pressure and superior stamina and stops you late, and **** stamina Cotto was well on his way to take a knee again, were it a 15-round match Margarito would win by TKO every time.

    Cotto owes half of his victory to Pacquiao and the wreckage he did on Margo's eye

    Yes, Cotto was already doing his running man routine. Just look at how his face was getting and admit it. Cotto cant handle pressure thats it. :deal
