(Easy to use hindsight for diminishing a fighters accomplishments)

The Williams fight was close & Margo was fighting hurt.
The Mosley fight Margarito was badly dehydrated (Sick) & was off his game against a "Juiced" Mosley.

 

he also loaded his gloves against Cotto in their first fight and tried to do so vs a juiced Mosley

cheaters shouldn't be inducted into the HOF, but guys like Toney, Jones and countless others are in

this is only my personal opinion, and a fighter shouldn't be in the HOF going only by his wins, his resume as a whole should be taken into account and the circumstances involing each career defining win or loss

 

Margarito was a cheater. We have no idea what his record would have been had he not cheated, so I think he is not worthy of the consideration. In fact, he got off VERY light. He could have easily killed someone in the ring. Look what he did to Cotto. Looking back, it is obvious his gloves were loaded when he beat Cotto.

 

There is no real sound evidence that he cheated vs Cotto just a lot of myths speculation and folklore

As far as HOF no, good wins good reign but lacked the stardom

If he got by Mosely his popularity after the Cotto fight would have remained and maybe he would have continued on and been HOF
