Would Margarito have made the hall of fame had he not been caught loading his glove?

You see what you want to believe. There is absolutely no proof/evidence that Margarito cheated against Cotto.

FACT is, based on all the "evidence" provided, there's all kinds of different scenarios.

From, Best case scenario for Margarito: Capetillo was telling the truth and Margarito went into the ring vs Mosley with No Loaded gloves(after Richardson made a big stink and Margs gloves were found to have some suspicious substances).

To, Worst case scenario: Margarito has been cheating all of his boxing career and therefore is a cheating scumbag.

    And everything in between.

People are going to chose to believe what they want based on their biases!

if you don't think xylocaine is more worse than a thin strip of hardened gauze, you are either a ***** or a homo***ual.

Would you back down from someone if you knew you had a concealed weapon to your advantage? And if you knew your opponent couldn't see it and you could see the effect it was having on him, could see them breaking down, you would continue to gain the upper hand as you pressed harder. You would get a domino effect in advantage, and don't talk about anything after, fool just got slapped around and had to be saved from his dumbass self continually. There's no reason for him to be retired to this day, he just knows he ain't worth a damn without plaster.

Damn you tards is stupid, an extra weapon vs....hmmm, not an extra weapon?? Matter of fact, if you can't feel your hands, then you wouldn't know when they were fully closed, making your punches softer, and taking the chance of hurting your irreparably.

    goes both ways son.

it makes someone with brittle hands that usually injures it during a fight, fight on with less pain than it would have been or without feeling the pain and finish the fight.

Honestly, I'm not a fan of his but the more I looked into and researched the whole "plaster" thing it's clear to me that the majority of it was bogus and blew out of proportion. He had a "substance" that IF merely combined with another substance, would make elements in plaster of paris. Nothing more really. Nazim set him up.

If the guy had loaded his gloves with actual plaster, he would have been jailed for attempted assault with a deadly weapon. He would have been banned for life. You don't ban a guy for a year who tried to put "cement" in his gloves FFS.

That video with Doug from RingMag on youtube is really good and explains how it was overblown.

It is still just his hands, no added volume, weight, or density. The argument that numbed up hands is worse than loaded gloves is ludicrous.

Like I said not a fan, but he was no bum and there was a reason why pacman wasn't going toe to toe with him after getting folded by that bodyshot. Did he have plaster then? Of course not. When he dropped Robert Garcia, a 154lber perhaps even stronger than Margarito, in the 1rst, he supposedly wasn't using. I wasnt there neither were you Capetillo put that on him Margo isn't totally at fault. You don't think his chin not getting dented had an effect on their minds? Is his chin a concealed weapon too? Getting smacked and still pushing forward? Sorry, but plaster of paris has absolutely ZILCH to do with that.

...but, the fighter whose hand is hurting wouldn't throw it as much and would throw it with lesser force if he doesn't have that numbing agent.

Jeez, ok, how about this, where's that one time when Floyd blew up someone's ear if it's worse, or that one time he made someone bleed from eyes...ears?? Or how about that one time he crushed a sparring partner's orbital with head gear on him?? Oh, that's right, Floyd never came close to do any of that with his xylocained hands, only Margarito.

His comeback against Robert Garcia actually had you fooled?? That was one of the worst acting jobs I ever seen in someone getting paid to take a fall, that's why Arum had Likar Ramos fall in the first round against JMM after that fiasco. And no one cares about his chin, chin without power would've gotten him nowhere, he needed plaster to be complete.

so just because floyd hasn't broken someone else's eardrum, you don't think a fighter that is using xylocaine is gaining an advantage/cheating?

If he's using xylocaine it's because he's already at an injury disadvantage. He takes only enough to take the pain that would otherwise not be there if not for previous injury, anything more puts your body at a disadvantage as pain is your body's alarm system to something being wrong. It is not any kind of advantage to completely turn off natural pain signals, it does far more harm than good, this has long been known in other sports such as football.
