Nobody walks through Tito Trinidad's shots. Why do you think even iron chinned Bernard Hopkins boxed him for ten rounds before he started to apply the pressure?

For those who are sure Trinidad had "loaded" hand wraps or that his hand wraps somehow increased his punching power and he was never checked by any official (even the referee before the his fights), can you please tell what was it that Trinidad had wrong? was he wearing bricks? some magic way to wrap your hands that enhances power?

That is just a bunch of bull****. It is required that the other corner check their hands and approve of them. Nobody ever said anything until the Hopkins fight.

Legit power and one punch power are two different things. The kind of punch Trinidad was throwing at 147 was unreal and imo was proven to be unreal. He had layers of tape, gauze and water forming what essentially amounts to a cast.

Layering handwraps like that is illegal for a reason. There is a reason why he was forced to redo them. They don't make up rules like this for no apparent reason. Research is done and in some cases unfortunate results form these decisions. When Trinidad Sr. said "I've always wrapped his hands like this" I was convinced this dude had been using loaded gloves his whole career up to that point.

I like Trinidad but damn. I gotta be honest.

Trinidad took his power all the way to middleweight and his power is what actually RUINED Mayorga's insane ability to take a punch, same with Vargas in my opinion. No way would Margarito be able to take these bombs and keep coming like he did with Cotto. Some people here need to watch more of Margarito's fights, he was seriously hurt at some point against Santos at Jr. MW.

Mayorga wasn't stopped ever before as well and as far as I remember every time Tito landed on him he was either stunned or hurt, as early as the first round too. Instead of trying to make Trinidad's punching power look normal because he didn't KO Mayorga in 1 round you might want to give Mayorga credit for taking these punches, he could have been out of there in the 2nd round but will all alone kept him going and trying. You're also forgetting that this is Trinidad coming off a 3 year lay-off if not 2.

I have never said anything about his power in fact a prime Tito i think he can stop Margo,Williams, any top 147 and 154 fighter of today.

I just said that Mayo was out of his NORMAL WEIGHT(147)Where he was a beast and at his best and that took Tito 8 round's to stop him but i will never take Tito power as normal he was a beast with his monster left hook and his power right hand ect... But he stop a fighter that had never been stopped before.

BTW i am a big fan of Tito and was rooting for him vs Mayo.:good

Maybe I got it wrong then, because when you said in your previous post and even in this one that Mayorga was moving up and still it took Trinidad 8 rounds to finish it(also included that it was a body shot) clearly hints that Trinidad's power might not be as good as many think, maybe I'm wrong but that's how it sounded to me.

I'm a fan of both Mayorga and Trinidad and admit I was rooting for Mayorga against Trinidad simply because he's the smaller guy moving up and trying to put on a show.

What a match up this would be. Margi does not even blink the majority of times he gets hit with bombs. But could he take one of Tito's, damn I'd pay good money to see this fight!

Hopkins may very well have the best chin of his era and even he was smart enough to NOT trade wrecklessly with Tito - who was fighting 2 divisions north of his best weight.

    At 147, I can't imagine anyone beating Trinidad in a tit-for-tat brawl.

You serious?, Trinidad hurt him after he landed the second hook and you can clearly see Mayorga's legs buckle for a second there and even after it he was dazed and seriously hurt at the end of the wrong as he was wobbly. Even his corner yelled at him about allowing Trinidad to hit him like that as he was wobbly and dazed going back in the corner, everyone noticed it including all three commentators(RJJ, Lampley and Merchant).

It seems like the popular comparison is Margarito to Mayorga because of the their chins. That's pretty much where the comparisons end because Margo's offensive attack is far superior and I would venture to say he would give Tito all kinds of problems with his relentless attack. I've already posted that I think Margo would be able to handle Tito's power but the more substantial question I think is if Tito would be able to handle Margarito's offense. :deal :think

"the more substantial question I think is if Tito would be able to handle Margarito's offense." "Margo's offensive attack is far superior to Tito's?"

Huhhh? Give us a break please.

You talk about Margo's relentless attack and power? Newsflash, Tito had MORE power and he had GREAT stamina, almost as good as Margarito (in welterweight). Even in the 12th round of the DLH fight (which could have gone to Oscar) Tito was running around like crazy full of energy trying to catch him. The ONLY key advantage Margo has is his amazing chin.

Margarito is good , but to say he would demolish Trinidad at welter is ridiculous. Tito at welter was on a whole other level. His record is there to prove it , I suggest you take a closer look.
