Though Margo has The ****** Chin, I can't see him stalking him as well as he did Cotto. Tito was more powerfull.

I don't remember Hopkins saying that.

But I do remember him saying this after the Trinidad fgiht.

Also the reason why it is plausible that they got away with this for so long is that they wrapped the hands very early and by the time the opposing camp had a look they were covered with more gauze, so you wouldn't see all the tape. Just because the NYSAC looked at the handwraps doesn't mean they were there the entire time he wrapped them.

And don't forget Don King promoted Trinidad. If he wanted to make anything fly he could, unless your name is Bernard Hopkins. Hopkins would walk away from millions of dollars for such a reason and after calling down the head commissioner there was nothing they could do. As the NYSAC looked on from all the drawn attention, it was clear that they were doing it wrong. They were told 3 times after to restart and do it right.

Also, Mayorga had publicily said that DLH hit him harder than Trinidad punch for punch. I think the fight proves as much also. Left hook comparison? Come on now. And don't say Mayorga was a big jr.middle. The man was 147 no different than Trinidad and didn't have an iron chin. DLH proved as much.

That was Mayorga saying that during his first fight with Forrest, was after the first round.

Don't really understand the confusion myself.

You said in the first post that Mayorga was moving up to middleweight(obviously away from welterweight where he's at his best) and it took Trinidad eight rounds to finish him and what finished him was a body punch. To me that sounded like you were hinting Trinidad MIGHT not hit hard enough, which is why I responded with what I did.

    Hope it's clear now.

Margarito wouldnt walk thru Tito's punches. At 147lbs or 154lbs Tito's punches were a like a mule's kick, powerful and devastating. On top of that he had very good accuracy with his punches. Thats why he was always able to caused so much damage with his punches. Take for instance the Vargas fight, most of the punches Tito landed on Vargas were right on the chin with accuracy. Same can be said for the Blocker and Campas fight. Maurice Blocker landed on the floor like he was dead weight. However thats not to say that Margarito wouldnt inflict pain on Tito either because Margarito does have power too. It would be a matter of who can stand the most. :good

PS. One the reasons I hate threads about Tito is that sooner or later someone who barely started watching boxing the other day brings up that hand-wrap bull****.....:nono

For that **** Hopkins and his trainer Bowie Fisher, they are the ones who started that rumor ****. As a matter a fact if Bowie was such of good trainer and knew so much about boxing, why is it that he is not around anymore? :yep

Tito has height, and he would go to AM's body as well as the head. Tito was a tireles worker, and would eventually catch up to AM. AM lacked a jab, which would help him in a fight with Tito. AM... early on in his career was a very good mover. Now AM just takes your best and gives his best back. The power difference, and the combined head and body attack is why I pick Tito to finish AM late. This was a very hard fight to pick. AM used to be a very good defensive fighter. He is still good, but he doesn't move as much as he used to. Tito is just too good am inside fighter had they collided. And they would collide.

I think he would wear Trinidad down and win a UD.

I like Trinidad a lot, but he is chronically overrated.
