Would Marquez have done better if Floyd had made the agreed catch weight?

i believe it was 144. Floyd clearly didn’t even try to make it.

I guess I ask because Max Kellerman said Floyd purchased a weight advantage that he didn’t need, basically saying Floyd would have shut him out no matter what.

Yes of course he would have. Weight draining kills stamina and sharpness. Might well have been radically different.

Maybe a tad better, but he wouldn't have won. Still, it was a cowardly move by Floyd. JMM wasn't even allowed to speak on the weight specifics, hence it being billed simply as, "A Welterweight fight". ***** move by floyd.

Let marquez train with Heredia and have a tune up at 144. I'd say he loses a closer UD.

Best answer and the only logical one, too.

No, but the Mayweather at 130 vs Marquez at 130 would've been a way better fight.

I think highly of Marquez and am not a fan of Floyd. However, I totally agree with Max.

no. floyd will always beat him because of his size, length, and superior legs and reflexes.

I think at 130 lbs Marquez would have stood a chance as Mayweather would not have had a strenghth and power advantage that he most definitely had at 147 lbs.
Mayweather had all the physical advantages at 147 lbs, at 130 lbs those advantages are less magnified.
