Marquez might win one round, but only after floyd is already totally shutting out the fight. Floyd's style would always give marquez problems because he's the better counter puncher and therfore beats Marquez at his own game.

Marquez won a couple of round when they did fight, albiet because Mayweather simply chose to take those rounds off, he just did'nt do jack **** in those rounds thus Marquez won them with activity.

Yes, Marquez would win at least a couple of rounds today, and more than that if Mayweather actually decided to stand center ring and actually box instead of retreat.

Duckie cheated him on scales despite being a naturally bigger man.
at 140 roided Marquez will surely win more than 1 round.

Well it would'nt happen at 140 lbs, it would happen at 147 lbs where Marquez still comes in at about 143 lbs.

ha ha. I can respect Mayweather's incredible skills but his asterisk ridden resume has so many low points. Never has there been such a ratio of reward to pocketbooks vs lack of risk / entertainment. But I think the paradigm is changing now. The masses have finally grown weary. This fight was a complete debacle due to all the bs Mayweather pulled with the weight. One guy was recently fighting at 130 pounds and just had recently moved to 135, now suddenly has to jump to 144, and the other guy can't even make THAT, and comes in at 146 and changes the contract so he can even come in at 47. Come on now.

    wiki

because Marquez had never before fought above 135 lbs and had fought at 130 lbs as recently as March 2008, while Mayweather had campaigned at 147 lbs since 2005, the fight was scheduled to take place at a catchweight of 144 lbs[3] to account for the size disparity between the two fighters. The fight was originally scheduled for July 18, 2009 at the MGM Grand arena but was postponed due to a rib injury sustained by Mayweather. The bout was rescheduled for September 19, 2009.[7] During the official weigh in for their 144 lb bout, Marquez weighed in at 142 lbs and Mayweather weighed in at 146 lbs thereby incurring a financial penalty ($300,000 for each pound over 144 lbs[5]) as he was 2 pounds over the catchweight.[8] It was later revealed that the contract was changed a few days prior to the weigh in so that Mayweather would be allowed to weigh up to the welterweight limit of 147 lbs while avoiding paying an additional fine to the Nevada State Athletic Commission, in addition to the fine he agreed to pay to Marquez

Could MemoQuez compete with Floyd in 2012. I don't know. I tend to think so, Memoquez is not going to be bothered by Floyd's shots, he has power and a chin and still has great skills to go with it, he is very comfortable and powerful as a welter and fights a lot different than the JMM that Fraud fought before. and Memoquez on the hunt it could be argued could win more rounds against fraud than Cotto did in 2012, which was more than the cards gave to Cotto.

The point is this: anybody arguing that Floyd boxed circles around a guy that gives Manny fits is wrong. Imagine that SAME Marquez, training for a fight at 144 after just recently moving to 135 vs a prime welter Pac who gets to come in at 146 and has been fighting at welter for a few years.

Marquez would have been at the same, incredible disadvantage, a memoless marquez moving up essentially three weight classes vs a Manny who gets to ambush him at the last minute and not even make the obligated weight, a weight he has been fighting at comfortably for years.

I just can't take anybody seriously with this stuff anymore. Floyd is an incredible talent, a great great fighter, but a total dud at the same time and this was just one of many examples
