We are talking about who was more technically sound her.

Saying that somebody had a good 1-2, or that they knew how to throw combinations, is like saying that they remembered to put their boxing gloves on.

Carnera was big and technically sound, and that is what got him as far as he got.

Wilder is technically unsound, and he would never have made it out of the amateurs, if he did not have a devastating punch.

Wilder is living proof that Baer could have had success in this era.

As for if they fought each other, it would probably come down to who had the better chin.

Carnera couldn`t do anything, he would never have cracked the top 10 in this era.

No way could Baer have taken Wilder`s power, Wilder has more one punch power than Louis had.

Carnera couldn`t have backed Wilder up or taken any of his right hands, Baer dropped Carnera and couldn`t finish him the first time he dropped him Wilder would have finished Primo in that moment as would Fury and AJ, Carnera was wide open to the right hand.

Baer killed at least one person in the ring, and was knocking out grown men when he was a teenager. Wilders best TKO is Charlie zelenoff.
Baer had a great chin and supreme fitness and strength which he developed from manual labour. Not a beanpole getting hurt by pillow jabs with legs thinner than my dogs.
Baer has Schmeling which alone is 100x better than a few come from behind wins via telegraphed right hands against bums who no one remembers now, let alone in 50 years.

You don't have to beat anybody exceptional to crack the top ten.

Even if he was as bad as you say, he would still have cracked the top ten today.

Fury showed us that you don't have to be an exceptional puncher to back Wilder up.

You just have to be big.

Having seen that fight, I like Carnera's changes better now.
    Based on what?

To get back to the original question:

Baer might be capable of beating Fury, Joshua and Wilder, but I doubt that he was consistent enough to beat all three of them.

His chances of being lineal were definitely better, in an era where you only had to get past one man.

Either way, he would have made an absolute fortune today.

Just imagine what you could do with such a handsome and charismatic champion, and a white American to boot!

What? Wilder had like five or 6 kos in the amateurs. (LOL) He was like Hearns in the amateurs, where he scored very few knockouts at all compared to how he fought as a pro.

Wilder won the National Golden Gloves, the United States Amateur Championship, the U.S. Olympic Trials and the Bronze Medal in the Olympics all by winning decisions.

He even won the WBC heavyweight title via decision.

Every major title Wilder won in the amateur and pro ranks came via decision.

You guys SERIOUSLY need to pay more attention. You get into this "group think" and just ignore what actually happened. Wilder won national amateur titles, an Olympic medal, and a WBC heavyweight title all by outboxing his opponents. He even won the WBC title via decision with a broken hand. Meaning he won the title via decision basically with one good hand (his left).

When Baer floored Carnera for the first time his follow up punchees were weak and sloppy then he fell over.

Speaking of handsome he`d have to change his 40`s hairstyle and the way he spoke, men don`t speak like guys did in the 40`s, they sounded stiff and odd in interviews.

Where can I see a display of Wilder's boxing ability as a professional?

Fury feinted Wilder out of position all night, Wilder flinched at every feint and fell off balance due to his wide stance, Carnera never used feints and Wilder is a lethal finisher, if he had free shots at Carnera the way Baer had on the ropes he would have sparked him as would AJ landed wicked uppercuts like the ones he finisjed Pulev with.
