Would Max Baer give Ali a tougher fight than Chuvalo did in '66?

Well, Rodney, I must say, this is one instance where I would much rather have been proved wrong about you than proved right.

But, since it seems as though you have nothing worthwhile to say about anything, and since a person can only derive so much pleasure from winding a person up with thematic variations of "yo momma" jokes, I am through talking with you until such time as you grow up and develop even the most rudimentary understanding of the term respect.

    Ignore works great.

Baer would have a 80.2269 % chance to knockout Ali in my opinion.

Absolutely, while Chuvalo was durable and roughed Ali up around the Mid-Section, Baer was a much harder puncher and quite durable as well. Max was not always in the best condition but he would be a danger through-out the fight and a big guy with real KO power.

I think Ali takes the UD but there will be no rope-a-doping Max because Baer could take you out or hurt you permanently with one shot. Max was responsible for killing Frankie Campbell and most feel it was the damage he inflicted on Ernie Shaff that killed Ernie and not Primo ...this fight would be more like Ali/Shavers but Max was bigger and was a champion and IMO more dangerous than Shavers

It depends on "what" Baer entered the ring. The clown or the deadly serious Baer, who clobbered a prime Schmeling. This Baer was a fast and powerful puncher, and in my eyes had the best concrete chin of all heavyweights. The dozens of terrible left-hooks and right crosses Max Baer took from the deadliest puncher the ring has ever known, the young Joe Louis, proved to me no one else could take a punch like Baer. And don't tell me Ali...Ali NEVER had to endure ever, the velocity, speed ,speed and more speed ,of the blows Louis bombarded Baer with. No one,and yet Baer withstood those onslaughts
til he said to himself "enough is enough". Ali was hit by heavy punches, ONE at a time,
but Louis threw punches in bunches. So the answer is Yes Baer posed a greater threat
to Ali than Chuvalo did because Baer when "on" hit much harder than the brave Chuvalo.
But Ali Decisions Baer I believe...

Style wise Chuvalo is more problematic for Ali than Baer, Ali probably wins every round before stopping Baer

While Baer punched harder than Chuvalo and was a bit taller, he was much more wild. Walking in and winging wild punches was not the way to trouble Ali. Chuvalo's getting inside and roughing Ali up may not have won him many rounds, but it wasn't an easy fight for Ali physically. Baer wouldn't have had the same approach as Chuvalo, he'd be following Ali around the ring and getting peppered with jabs and right hands and winging his big right, which Ali would easily evade due to how much Baer telegraphed it.

Max Baer is a hall of famer who just never impressed me with anything other than his power and chin.

If James J Braddock could outpoint Baer on the outside aswell as inside, I think Ali would of schooled him...

Personally I think Baer looks like **** on film and Ali would have a field day with him.

The only way Ali would stop Baer is with a baseball bat.
