i know its kinda "in" right now for everyone to treat pav like one of jerry's kids who rides to fights in a shortbus and really needs help getting dressed but...

pav would hurt pbf...i mean clinically/medically hurt him. there is absolutely nothing on god's green earth that pbf could do w/o the assist of a large caliber firearm to keep pav from walking him down eventually. EVENTUALLY mind you. and if pbf tried that shoulder roll on one of pav's rights he may not have use for that arm ever again.

that is not a knock on pbf at all, i love watching him fight and don't hate on him like a lot of people do. its just that pav cannot be hurt or stunned or deterred in any way by anything pbf has and would eventually catch/corner him. remember this aint 140lb ricky hatton meeting a ringpost we are talking about here.

sturm on the other hand...i think pbf could beat sturm and take a strap. would a sturm fight generate enough buzz and $$ for pbf?? maybe, maybe not but i would bet on pbf if the two ever fought.

If someone beatable and smaller than PBF could speak money then why not?

Say PAC fatten up to 160lb, PBF would be on his knees begging for a shot.

Floyd is small for welterweight, there is no way he will ever fight at middleweight. It's one thing if it's a guy like Mosley who weighs in at 147 but weighs 160 on fight night, but Floyd only gains like a pound or so on fight night so he doesn't even have to dehydrate to make 147. He would never fight at 160. I doubt he'll ever even move up to 154.

RE Pavlik: I thought a sarcastic remark would do the trick, but it looks like some people are stupid enough that they actually need someone to break it down.

Pavlik is a beast at 160. Mayweather would be getting into the ring with someone well over 170 pounds, who dwarfs him by the best part of a foot. Pavlik could hit PBF from half way across the ring! Floyd wasn't even a big puncher at Lightweight, and he's taking on a guy who's been in the ring with a Light Heavyweights and with a huge KO record?

Now, we've established that this fight is David vs. Goliath. But can David potshot and run his way to a decision? No. As soon as Floyd gets anywhere near Pavlik, he's going to have that jab pumping in front of him, the right hand coming over the top, left hooks to the body - and that's before he even gets inside! Mayweather couldn't get Pavlik's respect if he hit him with an iron bar, and he'll get charged onto the ropes and pounded to the body.

Middleweight is way too far for a guy like Floyd, and Pavlik would annihilate him.

If Floyd were to win the MW title....

Where does that put him on the ATG list?

    Top 5?

He wouldn't fight pavlik unless kelly is drained.he'd make kelly weigh in at 157-155 and put a cap on how much kelly could weigh come fight night. Other than that floyd would just fight a belt holder he could beat.

I thought about this after Spinks vs Taylor.
IMO, Spinks deserved that decision, and Spinks is basically a poor mans Floyd.
If Floyd ever wanted to become undisputed middleweight champion, he must have been thinking it after this fight. After all, he just got done fighting Oscar at 154, so it would have been just one more step up in weight, and Taylor was looking mighty beatable... but, there was no word of it. I don't think Floyd has his eye on this. I don't think he ever will, it's not like he sruggles with weight.
