If Floyd cared about endorsements, he'd be endorsing products lol... Now please don't tell me what another man likes doing as fact when it's really your opinion lol...

Endorsements pay money. Why wouldn't he want them?

Lower, because his style alone isn't enough to captivate the masses. Maybe not a WHOLE lot lower, but definitely lower.

Everything this guy does in his boxing career is about money (he fights for money) and you're saying he doesn't care about money outside the ring? Come on son.

Besides RBK all I can think of is the ATT commercial. His personality is rubs a lot of people the wrong way. Companies don't want endorsers that a lot of people have a negative view of.

Everything you know about Floyd is through your television just like potential advertisers. If Floyd truly cared, he would be doing endorements...right?

All Floyd would have o do is hold a Coke to his mouth, or show that he cleans his clothes with Tide during a 24/7 episode, and he'd probably get endorsements. You don't know if advertisers have a negative view of Floyd. Youjust know that you have a negative view of Floyd. Your first sentence doesn't even make sense. Floyd fights for money lol... Of course he does!

Plenty of people have a negative view of Floyd's persona. You either love or hate his act. You don't shrink your pool of potential customers for no reason.

Floyd's entire career has been driven by money and that's what he fights for. We agree on that. But you say he doesn't care about making money outside of the ring, I don't see how that as being logical.

What's with the misconception that you HAVE to be a nice guy to get endorsements.

Not always true. Look at 50 Cent and Vitamin Water, or Tiger Woods and the many endorsements he still retained AFTER the lil' sex escapade, or Kobe Bryant after what he went through as well as his very arrogant attitude he displays when being interviewed, or Iron Mike.. or you get the picture.

The only thing that matters is winning and generating revenue..

To answer the OP question tho.. Nah it would be lower. Look at his early career even when he was more offensive minded.

    They do well because

    1. Manny Pacquiao has an aggressive style, and his exciting conquests of the mexican elite fighters have turned him into a legend. People take notice when you beat up name fighters (not just outpoint). People take notice when you become a fighting machine and they appreciate that.

    2. De la Hoya has pretty boy looks; women love him, he has an exciting style and a very charming and marketable persona and was even nominated for a Latin Grammy. In the ring he'll go for the KO when he knows he's got the man beat and he'll take the risks when he's in danger of losing. He's had some pretty exciting fights that were pretty much events. Part of the Hollywood scene. Has a huge Mexican fan base, which to be fair reluctantly accepted him. He's also an olympic gold medalist. He doesn't need to be the bad guy.

    3. Hatton: Brits love their fighters, especially those good enough for the world stage and if it's an average Joe from the neighborhood who makes its big in the fight game. He brought over 10,000 fans from England to America to see him fight. That is amazing. He's got a super aggressive style. He frequently throws caution to the wind and he's not afraid to go for it. Sometimes it would help if he were more careful but that's another post. For Ricky, being the bloke from up the street works. He doesn't need to be bad, his self deprecating sense of humor tends to work well with fans. Being the bad guy who ruin the image.

Floyd is different. He's an olympian with a technical style. Very defensive fighters are hard to market unless they've gotten the big fight exposure or they have the charisma or persona that will keep the public interested. Being bad when no one else is makes sense.

Look at Floyd and look at Shane.

In 2000 Mosley was the bigger star. Floyd was chasing him.
Fast forward to 2010 and its the other way around; Mayweather is the guy that is being chased to the extent that Mosley had an in the ring confrontation with Mayweather at his post fight in the ring interview.

You see likable guys are 10 a penny. Which is why guys like Mosley never reached the same levels of box office success that Floyd Mayweather reached.

The bad guy keeps us interested, the bad guy is reviled but like a car accident draws you in even if its for the wrong reasons. People want Floyd to lay flat on the canvas so he'll finally shut his big mouth up. Other people want to see him succeed either way they want to see him. Floyd has a style that will satisfy the purists but not the casual fans.

Now when you don't have the style to fall back on in terms of self promotion and marketing yourself, you need to stand out, enter Money Mayweather.

he doesn't have the exciting style or Now he doesn't have exciting style to fall back on and given his obscurity to casual fans

Whereas with the nice guy, no one goes out of their way to see him.

It's not like Floyd had to try to be the bad guy. Being a douche is in his blood.
