Floyd by easy decision...cotto is not the same monster he was before...people complain about floyd not acheiving much since he's moved up to welterweight, but he moved up in november of 2005 (basically 2006), signed to fight the undisputed champ at the time, who wound up losing...so floyd beats both of those guys to become the man at the 147...he was retired for 2 years, and for those doubting the retirement u try fighting for ten years and see if ur body needs a rest and some time to heal...his hand problems were well documented...so he's been at welterweight for a total of four years, two of which he was off, and during that time he moved up to 154 to face the top guy (oscar) at that weight...people just dont like him as a person so they try to discredit what hes done in the ring.

Floyd would UD Cotto. It would be a near shutout. That being said, we'll never know because Floyd ducks every legit welter out there. In my mind he easily beats Cotto, Clottey, Margarito, and Berto, but Floyd won't prove me right.

Even if Floyd fought Cotto at this point in time, I wouldn't give him any credit. Would you? Cotto is all but finished and if he decides to carry on he will become a gatekeeper within 2 years. I love the guy and his "take on all comers attitude", but he really has nothing left. Maybe beat the **** out of Hatton in Hatton's backyard for his retirement fund.

This sounds like a Pavlik argument (mandatories, injuries, time-off). You should get crucified for this, but you won't because it's Floyd.

Everything he said in his post is true. When Floyd went to welter, Judah was the guy. Floyd signed to fight him, Judah lost, so he beat Judahs ass and the guy who beat him to become the man. Then he took on Oscar coming off a KO win over Mayorga. Then Ricky Hatton. Everyone of those fights was demanded by the public.

It would be an entertaining fight. Floyd wouldn't be able to inflict enough damage to stop Cotto from coming at him. Could be similar scenario as Castillo Mayweather which was a very close fight

Cotto is not the same Cotto but I would still give Floyd all the credit. Cotto put up a very good fight vs Pacquiao and did all that he could to stand toe to toe with the man. He looked good and im sure with a new trainer (freddie roach!)/work on his stamina/develope his right hand, he would give Mayweather a hell of a fight

He wanted Hatton for years at 140 and Hatton's camp openly admitted they werent ready for PBF. PBF then beat DLH at 154 and rather than go from 154 to 140, they both met at 147 when Hatton was finally ready to take on PBF.

As Hatton is a fat ****, he should have thanked Floyd for not having to drain as much to make 140.

Shouldn't the question be will PBF and Cotto ever fight?

Not who will win. Cause it will never happen in the first place.

i dont think alotta people who accuse fmj of ducking were fans when he was moving up, cuz all the guys they say he ducked are people that he would fight and arum (his prmoter at the time) is on record saying floyd would fight....i was watchin mayweather vs gatti the other day, and even lampley was talking about a possible matchup between floyd and cotto and that cotto was not ready and didnt want any part of him (not the exact quote but thats how i interpreted it)...to say floyd ducked cotto is not true...hindsight is 20/20, saying he shouldve done this or that, instead of actually looking at what was happening in 2006...zab now might be washed up, but at the time people were saying floyd would lose and zab was the king of the division, baldomir was on a huge winning streak and had just beat zab, these guys were real threats and the champs...if floyd fights those guys people say he ducked, everybody would be mad asking why he wasnt fighting the true champions of the division...like theres no way he can win unless he beats every single top ten contender in the division...most people get credit for moving up in weight and facing champions, floyd does not.

cotto will ko floyd....his left hook has enough power to stagger floyd....plus his uppercut is good enough to hurt floyd...

but floyd will just pot shot him as usual....

cotto has greatly slowed down since the marg fight just ask roach. before it would have been a good match up, now cotto is probably even slower after the pac fight.

u gotta remember if this was posted 2 months ago u would see different results. floyd was scared to fight cotto when cotto was undefeated period. maybe now id say floyd to win but lets be honest before pacquiao tore him apart i would have picked cotto

the only thing that bothered cotto was paquiaos very fast hands and punches in big combination...mayweather does not throw combination he only throws one or two shots at a time
