No question. It had unreal hype around it. To this day I still can't believe how it didn't happen. The money it could have generated would have been astronomical.

It would have been the richest fight in boxing history, would have generated the most money no doubt, but I don't think it was actually a bigger fight than Ali Frazier 1. Theres probably a couple more in boxing history that were bigger as well come to think of it.

Richest? Yes.

Biggest? Hardly. Louis vs. Schmelling II was radio broadcast world wide back when boxing was a much bigger sport. Ali vs. Frazier I and 3 were televised world wide back when boxing was king.

 

One of the biggest fights ever, yes, not thee biggest but likely the richest, it even had non boxing fans talking about the fight, it would have given boxing a massive boost, instead it dug the hole even deeper & turned potential new fans as well as some good fans against the sport. This is the reason I have zero respect for fmj or pac & why they cannot ever be compared to the other greats in history.

Richest defiantly...it would of done over 3 mill ppv buys. I would guess around 3.2-3.45. I think it would of been a close fight and a rematch would of been even bigger in 2011

 

definitely would of generated massive amounts of money, but no fights under hw will be more hyped or bigger. HW boxing will and always be the most prestigious weight class to fight at

 

Not by a long shot. Biggest money, possibly, but no where near as big as a lot of fights back in the 1910's - 1940's when boxing was one of the biggest sports in the world. Johnson-Jeffries, for instance, would have been bigger pretty much no matter how you cut it.
