Would Michael Grant vs Joe Louis be competitive

Grant might cause trouble for a round or two simply by jabbing high, leaning on Louis and forcing him back with his size.
But once Louis finds his timing?..
Grant is far too easy to find, especially down the middle.
Then Joe takes over with shots ripping to his body and head.
I'd then be surprised to see it going past the fifth round.

 

I think Joe Louis is comparable size to Dominick Guinn who destroyed Grant and KO'd him cold, but light years ahead of Guinn in terms of almost everything else.

Buddy Baer briefly had Louis in trouble. Abe Simon went 13 rounds with him in their first meeting. I’m thinking Grant falls into that category. Grant wasn’t quite the bum that he’s often made out to be

Grant would not be able to threaten Joe Louis, the skill difference is simply too Big, Louis also possesses significantly more power than Grant, Louis brutally stops him early.

 

Grant, was big 250ish lbs. Tall rangy, big power.
But he did loose a few to smaller guys in terms of weight and Louis is an ATG.
Could Grant land a bomb of course, but I think the gulf in class might be too much. Especially as the other guy is a precision puncher.. Not just a technically sound cruiser like Adamek.

 

No. But it would be funny as hell to watch once Louis started pummeling that behemoth around the ring before the mid round KO.

 

Michael Katz assured us all the Grant was the future of the heavyweight division... "a behemoth bestrides the fistic globe" or some such verbiage. I will stick with his assessment. Grant KO4.
