Would Miguel Cotto be better off if he faced Andre Berto instead of Yuri Foreman?

Cotto would beat Berto's ass...where in the living **** are you guys coming from with this bull****. Seriously...had Collazo not coasted through the middle rounds Berto wouldn't have made it out with a decision.

Foreman's a far harder test. But as BigReg said...his style suits Cotto...and you ****ers thinking he won't look good at 154 are crazy. The guy is thick as **** and can most likely ADD weight effectively instead of having to drain himself.

i would love to see cotto fighting berto rather than a runner yuri. if he gets past berto, i think he will gain enough confidence to fight pac again and could even pull a win.

I doubt he rematches Pac...that's an ended chapter.

If anything I think he signs up against Margo again as a final hoorah.

Isn't it supposed to be reaching for the starts and landing on the moon? The stars being farther away and all...

anyway, I agree with your post, it seems he has less to lose going against Foreman...

Both are tough fights for Cotto at this point in his career. I think he's better off facing Foreman. He has a better shot of winning IMO but I think he has a good chance of losing also.

It'd be a decent scrap for 3 rounds up until Berto has no answer for the jab and total disrespect for his clinch.

Please man get outer here with that ish...Cotto would own Berto even @ this point of his career.
Berto is Not on Cotto's level right now, Cotto would work behind the jab and hav it in Berto's face all night long,
I would actually like to see that fight jus so that Cotto can get bk into it @ WW (where I believe he belongs)

Not really sure. My concern however, is what will Cotto do if he beats Foreman. I don't see him with much of a chance vs either SM or PW.

    Interesting answers.

I personally would prefer to see Cotto-Berto, he's not a big welter and Cotto's big fight experience would give him the edge. Not to mention a win over Berto would be a tremendous confidence booster. Wasting time with journeymen don't give you the kind of confidence that would you need as a fighter if you are preparing for a big end all fight for your last hurrah (Margarito). Just ask Mike Tyson. After Botha his level of comp was not adequate enough to have prepared him for a guy like Lewis at that point. He needed to have fought better guys in order for him to step up adequately.

Cotto needs the same, given what he may presumably have left in the tank I'd wager to say that journeyman fight would only waste his time.

But for those that think Foreman, is this even a winnable fight or will it be a situation in which a elite level fighter loses to good but non elite level fighter because he's in the wrong weight class?
