don't think he would have the patience for it after telling a guy to move his head a few too many time, he would probably break his nose demonstrating why he should move his head
Too hard to tell, he is a great boxing historian & learned from an old master in Cus but we dont know him personally, his personal character might not suit it.
Tyson is a student of the game, his knowledge of the sport is often overlooked. Maybe, just maybe focusing on something useful and taking responsibility for other fighters could give him the discipline he always lacked. But ATGs to trainers is often a problem, it's not good when the trainer outshines the fighter. I'd LOVE to see Tyson try himself out as a coach though.
To a fighter who fights similar to him, I would say yes. I think he needs to be an assistant first though.
I think Tyson was a great fighter/boxer but I think what made him so good was the fact that he had that "killer instinct" and that's something you just can't teach, so if he were to train someone and they weren't successful then it would seem as if he isn't a good trainer but I truly believe what he possessed and what made him successful is something that you just can't teach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't think so. Some people are fighters, some people are trainers and some people have the ability to be both. I just don't think Mike is one of them. He doesn't seem to be dedicated enough to be a full-time trainer.
No. Mike needs to write a warts and all book (who here wouldn't buy it?)and then get as far away from the game as possible.
2 weeks prior to the bout against lewis, tyson left the sparring session just because a friend of him called him for hang out. I cant imagine tyson as a trainer, and you just cant.
wow i cant belive some of you guys dont think mike would be a good trainer. Yo that man use to work his ass off and knew the training aspect of boxing to a tee.....i think he could really be a great trainer....i dunno about motivating fighters, but the things he could teach would benefit any fighter he trains.....
No, I don't think he has the patience to be a trainer personally. Course, I don't really know em either, so... I do think he'd make a helluva boxing commentator though. Heard him once before and was very impressed with his overall ring knowledge. He's a real student of the game.
Mike is an amazing boxing historian and was a master technician in his prime. He could be a great trainer!
