Can you seriously see him winning a title except for maybe a flash ko of wlad then losing it immediately in a rematch

Prime Tyson had great head movement and was fast enough to get in and do damage. Because of his small size I could see him getting under there jab and putting them to sleep.

I think he means current Tyson...and yes, if he wanted to, he could be a top 10 contender.

He could intimidate Wlad and make him fight scared and be more cautious than he usually is with his bad chin and eventually K'O him, but Vitali has a much better chin than his brother and doesn't fight as cautious so I think Tyson would K'O Wlad but Vitali and Tyson is a 50/50.

As with anything, you have to consider timelines.

But tyson in any era bar joe louis's picks up the championship imo.

Let's say tyson peaks in 05 when we have void after lewis and vitali retire.

Byrd is top dog, tyson and wlad have both just hit their peak.

Whereas peter didn't finish wlad off, i'd expect tyson to. I'd also expect tyson to beat byrd. Probably runs until 09 or so when he burns out which coincides with wlad hitting his career best performance against chag, and that wlad beats the tyson who lost to douglas.

If tyson is just peaking now then it's not beyond reason he ends wlad's run next year.

As with all great fighters a lot is down to circumstance and timing.

I'll tell you this now, anyone thinking any version of wlad/tyson beats tyson/wlad doesn't have a clue.

Peak v peak I favour tyson but due to wlad seemingly having better consistency and longevity i'd expect wlad to outlast tyson over a career.

The Tyson of today wouldnt be significant. Not in boxing shape, and no motivation to go for the kill. Totally deprogrammed and complacent.

Prime Tyson--meaning Tyson with Rooney in his corner--destroys everybody.

    IN HIS PRIME YES.

As he was in 02-05 no.

He'd get a shot at the Klitschkos...but he wasn't the same in his later years. I think Vitali and Wlad knock him! Vitali does it sooner.

Today's Tyson?? He would be "significant" only in that he would generate much more media attention than fighters usually get. In terms of in the ring? He would be lucky to get by third-tier HWs like Maurice Harris or Cedric Boswell these days. And this is if he got in shape.

Tyson was affraid to face Foreman. he would wet his bed to the tought of facing a Vitali.

+ atlas wouldn't even let him close to a Klitschko. Tall HWs in Tyson era fought small. negating Tyson height advantage.

Tyson would've KO'd Joe Louis if we go prime for prime. Louis far too small, like Marciano was. Against the Klits I'd pick Tyson KO over Wlad and maybe a UD over Vitali if Tyson is prime in this fight. When the likes of Danny Williams n Fat MacBride were beating him he was long spent..and if he couldn't beat them then he'd have no chance vs either brother! His fire was simply out at that stage...his heart was no longer in the sport he said so himself he was just picking up the money and fleecing the fans.
